An update - we were taken to the restaurant by friends on a Tuesday night and have to say our previous experience wasn't improved any.
Service was good and friendly although plates were removed before everyone was finished their meals. The food was the biggest disappointment, very mediocre.
Presentation not what you would expect at a restaurant of this price and the food was often overpowered with the use of soy sauce etc. The bacalao for example was hardly a 100g fillet smothered in soy sauce.
There are far better restaurants around, a shame as the venue is nice
Sadly, it didn't quite live up to expectations and I think that may have partly been our fault. We booked late and the owner said yes, he could accommodate us, but I don't think he planned on us staying long. As a result, he hurried us up and eventually moved us outside for our coffee. So, the service was good and friendly although we never got our dessert in the end (we thought it was included in the menu). Drinks were good as well, foodwise we went for the set menu. Not enough time for them to prepare a paella (you need to pre-order) - that involved bread, a really good Russian salad and then it went downhill from there especially with the final dish of meat (very small portions and not well prepared). All in all it was not worth the price, sad really as it's a nice venue and the staff were friendly. We are regulars at their coffee shop which has always lived up to...
Read moreA very special place with homemade food, well-thought-out dishes, and flavors that surprise 🥩
From the first bite, you can tell the care and passion that goes into everything at Ca Dubi. We tried the ribs with barbecue sauce (Only in the morning menu, it changes) accompanied by sautéed vegetables and spiced potatoes: an explosion of flavor with tender meat that practically fell off the bone and a perfect balance of sweet and smoky. We also had an extra dish (Grilled Chicken thigh) with chicken and spiced potatoes in oil, which was absolutely delicious 😋
The menu is extensive, with options for all tastes: from authentic paellas, fideuà, and homemade pasta dishes to grilled meats like entrecôte, lamb, or Iberian pork pluma. They also have signature dishes like the "Angus Delights" or their famous Ca Dubi-style Bravas, with quince alioli and edible flowers. Everything has a creative touch and is perfectly balanced.
The atmosphere is calm, ideal for a relaxed meal, and the service was friendly and professional. You can tell they know their products and care about the customer experience. A restaurant that's hard to find these days: quality, great prices, and soul. Highly...
Read moreLovely looking restaurant and friendly staff, sadly that's it. Ordered a mixed salad- very basic but mainly didn't like the fact that salt and oil had been added instead of having it on the side. It was way too salty! So not a great start. A steak was ordered and cod. We were told a little wait was necessary as cod takes longer to prepare - no problem at all, we hate being rushed when eating. However, something went very wrong. The cod was not good at all. It was so over cooked it was quite mushy in texture, I'm guessing it was taken from the freezer to cook, and the sauce just didn't work again overdone creating a very unpleasant dish. Half a small potato was the only decent thing to eat as the other vegetables were under done. The steak was only ok, very fatty. The wine, glass of red was good. Very disappointing meal. Don't think we will go again. If they can't cook fairly basic dishes correctly then there is no hope. And...
