Review of the restaurant:

It’s a really calm place, and the service is very relaxed – I came in for takeaway, but they still offered me a table to sit at while I waited. There weren’t many people, but we’re here off-season.

We first visited this place 6 years ago, then again recently, and once more today. The staff are beyond friendly – incredibly kind, calm, and patient. I come from a more fast-paced culture, so it was honestly refreshing to be told: “Sit down, relax, you can pay when the food is ready.” It made me feel welcome and at ease.

Even when an older lady came in and complained (in classic grumpy style) about the wind, the staff responded with a big smile and no hesitation: “Of course, this side is much better,” and kindly helped her move.

The food: As always – delicious! This isn’t a gourmet restaurant, but it’s exactly the kind of everyday place you want to keep coming back to. We’ve chosen this restaurant over others in the area multiple times – and that says something.

Cleanliness: Also worth noting – they wiped down the table I sat at, even though I hadn’t eaten or drunk anything. That kind of habit shows care and good hygiene.

I don't normally eat Indian Food but thought I would try. I was on my own. I didn't know what the pankora was on the set menu. The waiter couldn't really explain. Looked it up on my phone in the end. I waited a long time for someone to take my food choices. The waiter desperately wanted to take a table of four's food choice who came in after me. I insisted he took mine first. He was not happy and initially told me to wait. I had already waited. A table of two, in front of me was told to go inside? This was halfway through their meal?? What for? I ate my main course as I didn't have a starter. Never stayed for whatever was the third course. Paid and went. I didn't want to stay any longer. They were really surprised that I was going? Fantastic, absolutely lovely meal, a little too spicy, we did order Madras though! but we think medium "plus" was too hot for us. Saying that the owner gave us a slightly milder version completely free, without us asking, very very kind, after which we were also given a large glass of wine, again no charge as we were too full to have a desert. The owner and the staff were excellent, we have never had such great service. We will definitely return, although we'll have something a bit less fiery!!
