La Braseria Barbecue — Restaurant in Orihuela

We came here to celebrate with a steak but they did not manage to serve a party of 8 at the same time, 1 of us had asked for her steak well done so we thought it would only take a couple of more minutes to cook so she told us to start eating, but she only got her steak 7 minutes later everyone else was served and only after we asked what took so long... That should have been the end of it,but her steak was was cooked medium so we sent it back asking for it to be cooked more. They decide to cook her a new steak that is alright in itself if it wasn't for the added time, but now they rush the cooking and bring her even less cooked steak, a medium rare at best, for the customer that asked for well done, this time she took the steak to the kitchen herself and asked them to butterfly the steak and cook it properly. She gets served for the 3rd time and it's cooked medium well this time 🤬 At this time everyone else has finished their food and are having drinks just waiting for her to be able to have her dinner, She just gave up and cut the fully cooked meat on the outside off and had a few bites before we asked for the bill and left. Not a place for groups as they don't seem to handle big...

A total disaster when a party of 6 ends up in 2 different restaurants! We had a reservation for 6 and were seated. After quite a while we were offered drinks and the menu, but the place was full so this far it was understandable. All of us were aiming for meat and finally we got to order. Then the waiter told us that they were out of most of the meat courses, because of no deliveries due to the rain. The restaurant could have informed about the lack of meat when we arrived, or AT LEAST when we were presented the menus! Eventually two of us could order what they wanted so the others tried the fish. It ended with 3 persons sending out a very poor and cold salmon dish, served with "wrong" potatoes. The waiter asked us specifically for our choice of potatoes and then, when he served the dishes he just said "we don't have any garlic potatoes". Again, no or wrong information! Three persons left to get their dinner elsewhere. The waiter said he was sorry(???) and gave us the full bill excluding the 3 salmons! I would say the tapas we had as starters were very good, especially the calamari and croquettas. That said the paella mixtas we ordered for 6 have to be the worse we've ever tried in over 40 years of eating paella. Very sloppy, more like a risotto, poor quality seafood and lacking in quantity of meat and seafood. It would also seem they used turmeric in it rather than saffron as it had a slight curry taste and peeling the langoustine left my fingers stained bright yellow for days. They charge extra for bread as well, even when you have tapas that would normally be served with bread to mop up the garlic oil. The two burgers and chips that were ordered went back uneaten because the kids didn't like the sauce that had been put on them. This is the first restaurant in 55 yrs that I have been to where we left the majority of the main course because it didn't taste good. Just wish we'd stuck...
