Ive thought long and hard about leaving this review but after contacting the company privately through Facebook messenger with my complaints and receiving no reply I decided to leave this review and then people can decide for themselves whether to try Varrk or not , we where in last year for breakfast and we got an under cooked sour tasting sausage which ruined both our breakfasts , we contacted them and they mentioned that the next time we where in to let them know and they would give us drinks for the table and a breakfast , we weren't looking for anything free but wanted to let them know privately about the problem so we didn't mention it on this visit . We haven't been in since until last week as we have seen their Facebook posts and said we'd give it another try , we called in and while there was only 2 other tables dining which seemed strange as everywhere else was busy but we decided go ahead and eat there anyway , we just want to make it clear that the gentleman serving us was absolutely lovely and we felt sorry for him when we brought the problems with the food to his attention as you could see his hands where tied and was afraid to mention it to the cooks . We ordered 3 different starters tacos and bang bang prawns, the tacos where dry and hard with what looked like shop bought sauces squeezed over them , the prawns which I thought would be freshly prepared as the server recommended them , they looked liked frozen breaded prawns and again with just shop bought sweet chili sauce over them and it was €10.95 , our mains where the lamb chops and a ribeye steak with asparagus , the lamb chops where burnt and waifer thin, the steak which would normally have a small medallion of fat in the middle for ribeye was complete grizzle and fat and the asparagus with over cooked and dried out , I took photos of our food and sent it privately to the owners before leaving this review but after a week with no reply I'm now posting this so other diners don't have the same experience as us as there are too many nice restaurants around the area to spend nearly €100 between 2 people on bad food , I'm sorry that I've had to do this review but at least I've given my honest opinion and others can then decide what they want to do , if this review helps the owners to improve their food for other diners that's fantastic but unfortunately we will not return.
Response to owners comment below !!!
I have now sent a private message to them suggesting they review the CCTV and see the returned food and how our meals where prepared and to check my previous 200 Google reviews which are 99% positive, I'm not looking for anything free but I will no longer accept mediocre service or quality of food from anywhere, this was not a special menu but full priced items , I have wished them good health and the best of luck with there business but as ive explained if you go there and enjoy your food then great but if it's not good then you have been warned , maybe with this review things that happened us will not happen to others , if so the review was worthwhile for...

First visited this restaurant in May. Ordered chicken wings which tasted great but were on the borderline of being cooked enough. We put it down to the marinade/BBQ sauce but on then seeing a neighbouring table eating the same, realised there was no such problem with theirs. We survived!
How I wish I'd read more reviews before going back, a number of which raised the same issue of undercooked food.
This time though the chicken wings were terrible, small pieces in a crumb coating similar to the frozen type you buy in Iceland for example. A BBQ sauce barely covered them. Both the wings & sauce were tasteless.
On biting into the first piece it appeared raw and I pushed it to one side and tried another which looked OK. I should have raised the issue then but when the server came over to ask I only said they were poor and not as tasty as our previous visit. Some of us English are too polite for our own good. I picked my way through the rest, not enjoying them one bit and pushing another couple I thought dubious to the side. On finishing I only then realised how red all the bones looked. I still couldn't imagine what was to come.
I spent all of the night and yesterday with severe stomach pains. Trips to the toilet all day and finally vomiting up whatever was left in my stomach and I suspect blood late last night. Without doubt I had food poisoning.
Overall an experience I don't want or would wish anybody else to go through ever again.
A REPLY TO VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DELUDED COMMENTS BELOW: Your reply simply shows your complete arrogance and lack of knowledge or customer care. Cooked chicken should fall off the bone and definitely not be pink. Mine is an honest review whereas your reply is lies and assumptions. Send in your lawyers. You deserve to be closed down.
REPLY TO FURTHER RESPONSE: No matter how many times you say it it will never be true. You are sounding and behaving extremely childish.
Because of your response I've now also reduced your service mark to 1 (if it could be zero it would be). Grow up, accept criticism and learn from it.
If it makes you feel better, my daughter enjoyed her burger (even though originally served with the wrong side!). Now beef, that can be served rare!
ADDITIONAL: I now see you have edited your reply. I wonder why? If I was you, rather than this disrespectful attitude towards paying customers I'd be asking myself why my restaurant only had 6 diners in it whilst most others in the commercial center were almost full. Perhaps the fact that anybody who is in anyway critical gets this type of dismissive response might provide a clue to the answer.
UPDATE: What a load of bull. Firstly, we've never had a disagreement before, pure lies. Please confirm the date when. You'll see I give honest reviews for many restaurants. Re. customers, show us a screenshot from you CCTV. There was a young couple on a table to our right & an older couple opposite. Deluded & a liar. I'll bet you €1000 now you can't prove me wrong 🤣
You want this embarrassment on Facebook,...
Read moreThis is the first time we have been out for dinner and had to go immediately to another restaurant to eat as the food was so bad. On arrival the manager came to take our order, my husband ordered wings to start and the Tom Yum Soup as his main. We were told it was a street food menu and his dishes had to be served together and were meant to be shared by the table. Since I was having the burger we weren't sharing and so didn't really want to be served this way. We were made to feel quite uncomfortable to the point my husband was going to change his order to a burger. After much deliberation we were told the kitchen could make a special change and serve him as a starter and a main. The wings arrived and looked pretty pale and not what we would have expected. On cutting into them they were completely raw and not edible. We returned them and declined a replacement. My husband was now very nervous at the prospect of eating seafood in a place that can't even cook chicken. My burger arrived which was ok, but served with fries that tasted burnt or cooked in overused oil. My husbands soup was the larger more expensive portion as it was his main, I would hate to imagine what the small portion looked like! It had huge lumps of ginger that had to be removed and was utterly tasteless. It promised prawns, mussels and cod on the menu but delivered very little of this and frankly looked like a pot noodle. Consequently my husband ended up having half of my burger as his food had completely failed to feed him. On clearing our plates, the manager did offer us a glass of wine 'as he understood we had a problem with the wings' no apology for the fact they were served raw - just that we 'had a problem' with them. We declined as we wanted to leave and go somewhere else as my husband was so hungry. He then came back and offered dessert or a coffee which we also declined. Frankly I would have appreciated an apology but that clearly wasn't on the menu. Thankfully he did remove the wings from the bill. I agree with one of the earlier reviews, these people have no idea how to cook food and no idea about customer service. Safe to say we will not...
