Chocolatería Valor — Restaurant in Oviedo

One word is all that is necessary for this review: YUM! The seating outside is huge, a lot of space, inside they do a good job with the whole vintage feel, I love the decor it feels very European. This place is pretty basic and it’s a franchise but the quality and freshness is undeniable. This is quintessential Spanish indulgence that is a matter of pride in their culture…so if their franchise chocolate place is this good, imagine what a tiny boutique homemade place is like! Anyways… the churros are the highlight for me here , they are not your typical churros, I’ve heard people call them “porras” which are not your everyday tiny churros these are crispy on the outside very long and larger than regular churros. But I love that they are spongy on the inside! Which are perfect for absorbing the thickest of chocolate cocktails! Oh and that’s another thing the chocolate is not super crazy sweet like the United States, it’s a perfect blend of sweet and cocoa without the side affect of giving...

Super disappointing place. The porras were so greasy... and the prices are quite high. A ham and cheese crepe the size of a tea sandwich cost 5 euros. We paid almost 25 euros for a handful of churros, two cups of chocolate, that sad crepe and 2 coffees. The previous day at another breakfast place in Oviedo (Orly) we'd spent 6 euros on 2 coffees, a generous slice of tortilla, and a sandwich with a fried egg, cheese, and ham, so... quite the price difference for a few oily churros. Great place for a relaxing drink and snack. The chocolate here is amazing, chocolate and churros a speciality, both hot and fresh. Other snacks and beverages available. The service is good and all servers wear a very nice uniform of black and white. You are also able to buy chocolates to go. There is a good sized room inside which is decorated to a very good standard. If you prefer to sit outside there is an ample seated area. Worth a visit if you're...
