We stumbled randomly onto this restaurant while we were visiting Oviedo and looking for something to eat. Everything from the entrance of the place to the last slice of the desert cake was thoughtful and exquisite. The food (except the ramen) is served in a multiple-dishes tasting menu, composed of traditional Japanese cuisine such as Tempura. Everything was delicate and cooked with a deep respect of both the ingredients and the customer, we loved every bite of it. The owners are some of the most passionate and friendliest people I have ever met, they work really hard to deliver a tasteful menu and a meaningful experience. They speak several languages and are very interesting people with lots of experience from their many travels, it really resonates with the incredible way they receive their customers. The place is small without being crowded, it allows the chef to control every aspect of the meal and to ensure quality. Very tasteful and healthy food, very cosy place, very welcoming and inspiring owners. It's a must go. Don't forget to make a reservation at least the day...
Read moreA small, unpretentious, family-run spot that truly made us feel like guests in someone’s home. We've been traveling through Catalunya, the Basque Country, and Asturias, and without a doubt, this was our best dining experience so far.
While many restaurants in the region feel crowded and jaded by tourism, this place stands out for its authenticity and warmth. The food is high quality, made with fresh, thoughtful ingredients. You can really taste the care in every dish.
The owners (more like hosts, really) are incredibly welcoming and friendly. They're multilingual, which made it easy to connect and strike a great conversation.
The ramen was wonderful - comforting and restorative, especially after a week of rich local cuisine. And the gyozas? Fantastic. They tasted homemade, with none of that cheap, processed meat feel.
I've already recommended this place to all my friends in Asturias, and I’m happy to recommend it to you too. Part of me hopes it stays just the way it is: small, cozy, and perfect for casual...
Read moreWe were visiting Asturias for our honeymoon and stopped by this restaurant, because my wife was craving Japanese food. Needless to say, our experience at Kômiwa was one of the highlights of our trip. The owners, Taka and Judit, are incredibly friendly and kind. The hospitality we received was heartwarming and something I’ve never experienced in any environment, let alone a restaurant.
We went for the ramen on our first visit and the 6 course tasting menu on our 2nd visit. The food is all cooked from scratch by Taka, and was delicious and creative. We come from a multicultural city which has a rich international food scene, and plenty of Japanese restaurants. Even by those standards, the food was excellent.
If you are ever in Asturias or if you live here, I highly recommend a visit to Kômiwa Restaurante Japonés. Thank you again...
