the kitchen they have inside is absolutely beautifully designed and quality, especially the tiling. the sitting arrangement inside seems cosy too. however, the seating on the terrance could be played around with more for maximisation of view and atmosphere building. we got a seat at the front but the way the chairs were placed meant we were mostly facing a big white pole and not the sea in front. I think there is a way to move the chairs around so that it is still convenient, spacious enough for movement but also takes advantage of the view. there definitely could also be more lighting outside. they could really elevate the ambience but also general brightness with fairy lights or candles, for example.
the croquettes were wonderful. a very good starter. as everyone has complained in the google reviews: yes, indeed, the portions are small. I, personally did not have a problem with that. the bikini we ordered was really good too but the fries that came with them were really just an afterthought to make up for again how small the portions are. they were not very well made. some were crispy, some were soggy. ended up leaving most of them.
it took a really long time for the lamb dish to arrive. we had to ask the staff if it had been forgotten. the topping was quite good and diverse in flavour but the pita bread was a mild disappointment. soggy.
overall a decent experience. really impressed by the first two dishes, minus the fries. the seating outside could really set this place apart if edited just...
Read moreThe food was below average and overpriced. We ordered several things from the menu and they were all dissapointing - from the patatas bravas that were dried and overfried, to the shrimp cheviche that was tasteless and literally came with 5-6 shrimp and a few pieces of onion (18 euros). And even though i usually don t have a problem with paying more for a smaller portion of good quality food, here it felt like a ripp off. We also had the mussels (2 big pieces of bread with 4-5!! mussels), the zucchini (5-6 thin slices drizzled with pesto) and the calamari (2 small-medium calamari a la plancha). Listing them all so that at least you re aware of what you ll order, since the menu doesn t show quantity anywhere and the lady that served our table said that other things from their menu are different - their menu has 12-15?!? different dishes, mayyyybe some are worth the money? Anyway, the staff was friendly and the location has a view (assume this is what you re...
Read moreInteressant restaurant de cuina catalana marinera.
Bonic local al passeig marítim de Calella, bona terrassa i còmode sala, ben climatizada.
Servei atent i professional.
