Please avoid this restaurant, even if it’s your only option to eat. It’s better to skip a meal than risk getting sick. Palamós has many wonderful places to dine, such as Bitàcora, but definitely not L’Ona Restaurant.
I’ve never written a review—positive or negative—before, but this experience compelled me to do so. L’Ona was the only restaurant open during siesta, so my partner and I decided to give it a try. We ordered tea and fish dishes, but I deeply regret not leaving after seeing the condition of the tea service.
The teapot was covered in coffee stains and lots of dust, and the cup had sticky, obvious stains that couldn’t be ignored like it hasnt been washed after previous customer. As a former waitress, I told the server that this was unacceptable and not how you serve guests. The waiter took the tea back, but neither he nor the manager offered an apology or a replacement served properly. Given this lack of basic hygiene, we decided to withdraw our food order as we couldn’t trust the kitchen’s cleanliness standards.
Unfortunately, we made the mistake of staying seated, and the manager became aggressive, raising his voice and insisting we pay even if we didn’t eat. We stayed, received our food, and regrettably ate it. The fish was dry, and the grilled vegetables were drenched in oil, making the meal mediocre at best.
What made this experience truly unbearable was that both my partner and I fell ill with severe food poisoning shortly after eating there. It was the only food we had during this day. We had a flight later that day, and it was a miserable ordeal. It’s deeply disappointing that in a developed country like Spain, such poor sanitary standards still exist. I’ve traveled in South America and Asia—regions often stereotyped for lax hygiene—and have never had an experience like this. The food was always clean and fresh.

Read moreDon't go here for the meat. I ordered lamb chops, got 3 bones, barely any meat on it. Only a tiny bit of pure fat, and also that was very tiny. When I mentioned it, (I think the owner) was very rude. He got mad, telling me there was enough meat on it and it is normal. When I desided to try my 2 mg of meat, it was sooo salt, it was discusting. The fries where also pure salt and very dry. We wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. When we tried to pay, that also didn't work with the first divice. Nobody botherd to ask how the food was, if we wanted anything to drink, very poor service....
