CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE PAYING! Paid 155,60€
Food was excellent! HOWEVER:
-We ordered 3 mocktails. On the final bill, the waiter said he was charging us the fruits he put inside our drinks as an extra cost (we ordered fruity mocktails, so how do you expect to make mocktails with no fruits inside and charge us extra for those same fruits?). -on top of this, that same waiter man, charged those mocktails the same price as cocktails and said “because there was no alcohol inside your drinks, I’m only taking off 1€ off each drinks”. IT WAS STILL MORE EXPENSIVE than ordering cocktails with the extra fruits cost!!!! -Aperitif: we ordered the prawns which was amazing! But we didn’t ordered the bread and dips. It was just dropped on our table so we thought that was part of the menu setting. IT WAS ALSO CHARGED in the final bill: 2x2,90€ and there was one bread basket with 4 small pieces of bread inside. -the waiter was clearly not transparent and honest with us and because we came for a birthday celebration, he clearly ripped us off. -when I booked, in the instructions, I clearly mentioned we were coming for a birthday. The waiter came with a bowl of ice cream we ordered on the menu and added a candle, he came alone to sing Happy Birthday (just the end of the song) and quickly left. None of the other staff came and bothered to celebrate a guest’s birthday along. It wasn’t a rush hour or busy at all. Kudos to him for doing that alone tho. I was expecting other staff to join along with him but if that’s how they roll and it wasn’t even busy, ok!
Thanks to the chef for the delicious food. Clearly the big thumb up of the evening.
As I paid, the waiter said he HAVE to pay the tip as it is policy of the establishment. 🤨
We are definitely not coming back!
The Tap Water they fill up at the bar faucet sink is also NOT free!!! We had to pay for it as well.
TOTAL bill: 155,60€....
Read moreWe had high hopes for a relaxing day at the Assaona beach club but it turned out to be one of the worst beach experiences I’ve ever had. For a place that markets itself as an exclusive private beach club, the reality couldn't be further from the image they try to sell.
First, the beach itself was filthy. The sand was littered with cigarette butts, making it feel more like a neglected public space than a private retreat. For a hefty entrance fee, you'd expect the place to be spotless, but clearly, cleanliness is not a priority here.
As for swimming, it was an absolute disaster. The sea was riddled with stones and sharp rocks, making it impossible to enjoy a dip without constantly worrying about hurting yourself. Walking into the water felt more like navigating an obstacle course, not the refreshing beach experience I had in mind.
To make matters worse, the noise level was unbearable. Instead of being a peaceful, serene spot to unwind, it felt like I was at a chaotic party, with loud music blasting all day long. There was no escape from the noise, even when trying to relax on the sunbeds. It was overwhelming and ruined any chance of enjoying the natural beauty of the area.
And then there’s the service — or lack thereof. The staff were inattentive and seemed annoyed whenever you asked for something. Drinks and food took ages to arrive, and when they did, they were overpriced and of poor quality. There’s no excuse for the kind of service we experienced, especially considering the cost.
Overall, Assaona was a huge letdown. The combination of dirty sand, hazardous waters, loud noise, and poor service made it a miserable place to spend the day. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant beach experience. Save your money and...
Read moreUnfortunately, we didn't have such a great day at the Assaona Gastrobeach Club in Palma.
A sunbed costs €40, two of which we had already booked more than 10 days ago via the website and selected zone 1 (rows 1 to 3). We were at the club extra early in the morning to secure the sunbeds in the first row. On arrival, several sunbeds in the first row and all the sunbeds in the second row were still free, but we (two women) were only given two sunbeds in the third and therefore last row of zone 1. When we asked why it was not possible to lie in the first or at least the second row (which was no problem at all on our first visit to the club last year), we were told that all these loungers were already reserved - our reservation did not seem to be sufficient.
All of this would be annoying, but no reason for us not to visit the Assaona Gastrobeach Club again next year. BUT Unfortunately, shortly after our arrival, a group of 10+ men took up the entire fourth row behind us and drank loudly all day. Nobody from the staff put a stop to the heavily drunken men - apparently turnover is more important here. A relaxing day at the beach was therefore not possible.
In addition, the staff weren't really friendly either, even though we spent a total of around €250 for two people in one day...
It should also be mentioned that there are no changing rooms or showers for the club's guests and only one shared toilet for men and women - that's unacceptable.
Other standards...
