I went to the restaurant with reservation, it is crazy. Everyone is just coming in and they don't really bother to prioritize a booking reserved in advance... Everyone counts the same, any corner is fine. We have been seated for over 10 minutes to get the menu while everyone else came after us and and they got a menu, table show by the manager and order for drinks complete.. Still waiting to be seems by someone.. The Ali Oli is good and the bread is toasted enough to be served. The meats comes with no sauce at all and the service could improve 100% percent. The waiters have an attitude and no smile which doesn't really make you feel very welcome. We asked for a " Gató with almond icre-cream" It came after 15 minutes and isn't ALMOND it is hazelnut, even though we doubt it, the waiter with an attitude went to ask the chef and in our face told us it is almond!! Seriously it wasn't. So due to this I attached the picture to ensure the I creams is visible enough to difference the clear color... It may seem not very different for everyone but for a almond lover it is ridiculous. No...
Read moreI just cannot recommend the restaurant at all. Many of the issues might have been due to the large group of people (22) but nevertheless this cannot be an excuse for such bad service and quality of the meals. But let‘s start from the beginning: It took ages for the waiter to ask for beverages. The restaurant actually is only for people liking grilled meat. And meat means meat as they have no fish or grulled vegetables at all (on an island???) The restaurant is located next to a big road - so much for the ambiente. Well, then the food arrived partly - as half of the group received theirs 15 minutes later and 1 person was forgotten. The salads were 50% onions (2 were ordered by vegetarians) - not much to our liking. Again this is an island with excellent vegetables grown on Mallorca. The meat ordered welldone was almost raw. Even part of the chicken was raw - well the part which was not burnt to charcoal. The sidedishes consisted solely of sloppy french fries with garlic. Ketchup or barbecue sauce nowhere to be seen. They just don‘t offer this. Noodles or rice for children - again no chance. Comment by the waiter this is a grillhouse. Well I have seen others with different types of sauce and sidedishes. One meal had a long hair as an unwanted sidedish. The sidedishes are paid separately but mandatory with 2,80 € per person - although they only serve one plate per 4 persons. Last but not least you cannot dutch the bill.
Summed up this is an experience we would rather have missed. Cannot imagine how they got better reviews than 2 stars - maybe people mistook for a sinilar...
Read moreA True Taste of Mallorca at Ca'n Torrat As residents of Alcúdia, we're always on the lookout for authentic Mallorcan dining experiences and had heard great things about Ca'n Torrat in Playa de Palma. After visiting last Thursday evening with my wife, Sara, and my in-laws, I can confidently say it exceeded all expectations. From the moment you arrive, you realise Ca'n Torrat is a special place. It strikes that perfect balance, feeling like a traditional establishment cherished by locals, yet remaining incredibly welcoming to visitors. The interior is stunning, with a rustic, traditional charm that speaks of its history. We chose to sit on the huge, beautiful terrace, which was a fantastic setting for our evening meal. The menu is a carnivore's dream, and we all opted for meat dishes. I chose the fillet steak, and it was, without exaggeration, one of the best pieces of meat I have ever had the pleasure of eating in Mallorca. Everyone at the table was in agreement; the quality of the meat is simply outstanding. Just as importantly, everything was cooked to absolute perfection, exactly as requested. The service was another high point; the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, adding to the wonderful, relaxed atmosphere. For anyone seeking exceptional quality, perfectly cooked meat in a beautiful, traditional setting, Ca'n Torrat is a must-visit. We will most certainly be making the trip from Alcúdia again. Highly...
