We can’t get our heads around this couple of cool cats, Argentinian meets Mallorcan and a trip around the globe in between, in a ridiculously tiny space turned into a retro-futuristic time capsule - they've decorated it with all sort of mallorcan retro stuff, finding homogeneity in the mashup of objects… and apparently becoming influential innovators of Palma’s traditional llonguet. Alfon’s llonguets… seriously… absolutely amazing, they travel the world with an explosion of tastes and textures. "Mediterranean" food doesn't really define it, Alfon is actually a food mixologist.
There are other amazing dishes too, and they make all their delicacies in the smallest kitchen we’ve ever seen! After our first time, we now like to order a bit of everything from the specials to share between us... you’ll see what I mean… and their selected wines!... It’s a journey of flavours - we have become total fans, and apparently this is also the case for the most renouned chefs of the island, so if you want to taste ££ for what others eat for ££££ and actually hit the source of their inspiration, head to this little but super great cafe with a sign post that takes you back to Twin Peaks. We book our table as it’s small! About 3 tables inside and a small bar with hooks along it to hand your bag ( ♥︎ ! more people should be doing this, it's the difference between what the bleep do I do with my handback and feeling totally relaxed) and 3 or 4 tables outside plus two tiny foldable outside bars. Cute and cosy, absolutely in love. Adela and Alfon are friendly and welcoming even in the middle of the buzz. They only open for breakfast and lunch and the music they play indoors is fantastic, indie rock, jazz, dub step, rock & roll, power pop and the likes. Often can turn into hangout of the coolest people in town. Surreal, beautiful and delicious experience off the...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such warmth and friendliness—it genuinely felt like being welcomed into someone's home. The atmosphere is intimate and full of positive energy, like dining with family. We were seated immediately, without any rush or pressure from the staff, who we suspect are also the owners, which adds a very personal touch to the whole experience.
Although we weren't initially hungry, we decided to try some of the food—and we’re so glad we did. The dishes were absolutely exceptional: fresh, flavorful, and full of thoughtful, creative combinations that showed real passion and care. Everything we tasted was of high quality and prepared to perfection.
What really stood out was the honesty and kindness of the service. At no point did we feel like they were trying to take advantage of us as tourists—quite the opposite. We were treated like regulars, like part of the family.
Prices were more than fair for what we got—in fact, we were pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived. We expected to pay more, considering the quality of the food and drinks.
I wholeheartedly recommend Canamunt to anyone looking to enjoy authentic local cuisine, warm hospitality, and a truly genuine experience in Palma. It's a hidden gem that makes you want to return before...
Read moreThis adorable cafe/bistro close to the Mercat de l’Olivar never fails to surprise and delight with its food. Inventive sandwiches and daily dishes, something for carnivores, pescatarians and vegetarians. The chef clearly knows his flavours and is always trying something new so you’ll never want for a surprise with their specials. But also rest assured the regular menu of llonguets are filled with innovative, but more importantly, tasty combinations. Service is warm and considered, which adds to the care and dedication to what they do here. A...
