Cafeteria Laventa — Restaurant in Palma

Supposedly authentic Spanish food, but it was atrocious and the service was even worse! The best steaks I have ever eaten were in Spain, so I ordered the entrecote steak, medium-cooked, sliced and w/ french fries (as in the photo in front of the restaurant). It came out rare, tough - despite being rare - AND dry, and with baked potatoes. (The cook didn't know that you need to let a steak rest at least 5 minutes after taking it off of the grill before slicing it, so all of the juices had run out onto the plate.) I asked the waitress to bring my french fries as ordered, and for steak sauce given how dry it was. She acted like I was a nuisance, and said that there were no sauces at the restaurant (besides ketchup and mayonnaise). I couldn't even eat half of the steak. I tried to complain to the manager (in Spanish no less), but he didn't even let me speak. He just said pay and don't come back. For the record, I wouldn't have come back even if the food...

You may not expect a super steak in this „cafeteria“. But have a look for the fridge, you can see the steaks. It‘s mostly Tbone but without the filet. The meat is super good, ours was cooked perfectly (ordered rare, using pictures to make sure that there is no misunderstanding). Price is reasonable with 45 Euro for 1.1kg with 2 big roasted potatoes. It‘s a rather spanish place, not a tourist seefront place, but if you are after super delicious meat rather than a nice...

La comida estaba bastante rica y un precio estándar, en ese sentido no tengo nada que decir. No obstante, la atención al cliente podría mejorar. Os comento algunas cosas que me han dejado con una mala sensación:

Han venido 4 veces a preguntarnos qué habíamos pedido para comer, no han apuntado nada.

Hemos pedido unas patatas fritas y se han equivocado de mesa. Estos clientes han empezado a comer y los camareros se han dado cuenta del error, les han quitado la comida ya empezada de su mesa y nos la han servido a nosotros.

Cuando los platos principales ya estaban hechos nos los han "tirado" a la mesa de mala manera. No sé, era una actitud un poco desagradable. Es más, al rato de haber empezado a comer hemos pedido un poco más de ketchup y la camarera también nos la ha tirado a la mesa de malas maneras.

De hecho, parecía que si llamábamos a la camarera se molestaba. Resoplaba, era cortarte y un poco desagradable. No pido una cercanía brutal, pero me hubiera gustado una actitud un poco más cordial.

Por último, hemos tenido que hacer un tetrix en la mesa para tomarnos los cafés. No han retirado ni un plato, ni un vaso ni un cubierto hasta que nos hemos ido. Entiendo que si hay mucho trabajo no des a basto, pero no había demasiada gente.

Espero haberme explicado bien y que lo tengáis en cuenta porque me gustaría volver algún día. Igual ha coincidido que hoy tenían un mal día porque mis referencias del sitio eran...
