My Thai — Restaurant in Palma

If you want to eat bad food, you go to another place, here you can get only very bad food. We went to this restaurant because it was proposed by google as a acceptable Thai restaurant. We went in, no waiter there. A young guy said wait and we waited for a lady, who not even said hello or good day or so. My friends ordered a soup and chicken curry, my wife fish and I a beef curry. We ordered our food and the waiter ask if we do not want to order rice, so rice was not included. I ordered fried pasta and my friends rice. After 20 min waiting time they brought the starter where 50 % was lemon grass and ginger. The soup was not tasty at all. When they brought the the main course, I asked them to fry the pasta again because the pasta were cold. Another waiter came and told me that the pasta is ok but took them away. During dinner my friends felt not well and she went to the bathroom to vomit, she was happy, that she made it to the room. I paid the bill and we went back to the hotel, where my friends felt didn’t make it to the room to vomit, he used the groundfloor bathroom. In a town that caters mostly towards hungover tourists serving mostly bad burgers, bratwurst, cheap kebab and terrible pizza this restaurant offers your tastebuds a welcome change of scenery. Not that this restaurant is great. Would I have had this quality Thai food in any other decent sized European city, I’d have given them one star less at least. Not a lot of basil in my pad kra pao and the fried rice lacked veggies. Worst than the food was the service. Smiling can be hard. Well, in the summer at least the temperature reminds you of Thailand.

I might sound harsh, but if I’d ever find myself in this area again, this would be my restaurant of choice. Much better than the bland paella that’s served one block away at the promenade.

But chances are I will rent a car next time so my options are...

Hoy fui invitado al rt.My Thai en la playa de Palma iba con mucha ilusión ya que mi amigo me hablaba maravillas de este lugar,pero e sufrido una gran desilusión el local esta bien y es acogedor ,las sorpresas llegan cuando de entrada ya nos dicen que no hay ningún plato con pollo,que se a terminado, luego nos recomiendan lubina con curry y al momento vuelve la camarera a decirnos que lo lamenta pero que también se a terminado, que tampoco hay arroz frito, resumiendo no había la mitad de los platos de la carta,.Entiendo que seguramente será porque hoy es el último día y cierran por vacaciones y ya les debía de faltar género esto casi lo puedo entender,lo que no entiendo es la prisa en tomar la comanda y luego tardar 45 minutos de reloj en traer 1 plato,pata uno de los comensales diciendo que no sabía que había pasado pero de momento solo había 1 plato servido y que se lo comiera porque frio no valía nada, o sea que uno de nosotros a tenido que comer solo y los demás mirando ,cuando al fin a llegado el resto de la comida la verdad es que tenía un aspecto espectacular con colores vivos y alegres,las lubinas han estado buena, para mi gusto la salsa agridulce estaba algo salada,pero en general bien, la camarera a sido simpática pero no muy hábil o profesional, en el momento de servir no es muy cuidadosa y uno de los platos venía goteando manchando a una señora😬pero es que al retirarlos sin ningún cuidado a levantado los cubiertos salpicandonos de salsa(agridulce)a otros 2 y Derramando bastante salsa por el suelo,quiero pensar que no se a dado cuenta ya que en ningún momento a pedido perdón o disculpas. Al pedirle si tenía algo para las manchas nos a dicho que "No "que en el lavabo había agua. Hemos esperado un buen rato y nadie se acercaba a pedir los postres. Cuando al fin a venido nos a dicho que alguna cosa ya no quedaba,bueno hemos hecho el pedido y cual a sido nuestra sorpresa cuando al rato vuelve y me dice que hoy no es nuestro día de suerte,que ya no había postres que la cocina ya estaba cerrada(15'50 horas) nos hemos quedado muy sorprendidos y disgustados, no hemos tenido una buena experiencia y no nos han quedado muchas ganas de volver. Tal vez porque es un restaurante enfocado al público extranjero ( es lo que me a parecido a mi,lo cual no implica que sea asi)y no local y deben trabajar de forma diferente a lo que estamos...
