Staff with the utmost level of disrespect.

We called asking if they had a spot for us and the "nice" lady on the telephone kept shouting that "WE DO NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS". We said alright, no reservation but do you have a spot? This got repeated 3 times then the lady simply and angrily hang up in my face. We showed up at the place as we were close to ask in person and the phone rang, she literally said: "If it's the same [bad word], I'm going to lose my mind on him". I replied: "Excuse me, you're going to what? I'm asking if you have a spot for us, I don't want a reservation". She got all angry and agitated, correcting my non-native Catalan, that I should have said "placa" instead of "lloc". Immediately after the gentleman (owner?) behind the bar shouted at us to kick us out and started advancing in a what appeared to be a physically threatening manner. We left as we had a newborn in a stroller, making it loud and clear that we will be leaving a 1-star review. They will certainly incite their friends and staff to post reviews countering this one while sharing lies and wild accusations to justify their behavior, but you don't have to look far. Just scroll down to many similar reviews over the years documenting how they regularly treat customers under the guise of being "too busy".

Additionally, their behind-the-counter behavior and hygiene looked substandard.

En primer lloc vull aclarir que no sóc partidaria de les ressenyes de Google ja que crec que es una eina gratuïta amb la qual, qualsevol pot criticar destructivament o afalagar a qualsevol negoci sense ni tant sols haver-hi assistit, acalarat això em presento. Sóc la Yolanda la treballadora del bar la Mediterrània i vull explicar el que ens va passar ahir dimarts 15 d agost (dia de mercat i núvol per mes inri), estavem en ple servei de migdia i rebem una trucada a la qual contesto jo personalment" la senyorita agradable del telefono"com diu ell a la seva resenya,em pregunta si hay plaza para 6, li dic que no reservem, ell torna a preguntar el mateix, torno a respondre igual i crida tres vegades seguides però hay plaza!!!??? A la cual jo dic , a mi no me chilles!!! I si, penjo el telèfon seguim amb la feina i al cap d un moment sona el telèfon un altre cop i jo dic textualment com sigui el de plaza para seis flipo, el telefon deixa de sonar i em surt un " senyor" amb un cotxet i un nadó, amagat darrera les neveres de la cuina i crida "que flipas, que flipas!!!!" Jo quedo alucinada, no m ho podia creure i li dic "ya te lo dicho antes, a mi no chilles" evidentment el meu to va ser més alçat. Vaig gesticular que marxes i li vaig dir que la plaza la tenia bien grande ahi delante( ja que tenim la sort d estar a la plaça del poble). Els clients que van viure el moment i el meu home (propietari) li varen dir que marxes ell va sortir cridant que no pararia fins que tinguéssim una estrella. No n hi va haver prou que el "senyor" insistent no va parar de trucar durant tot el dia sense dir res més, només per el fet d increpar, no va parar fins que el meu home li va dir per el seu nom(G.....) I que el seu número de telèfon havia quedat gravat i era X que si seguia acusant el denunciaria apartir de llavors no va trucar més, però ens van començar a caure un munt de ressenyes negatives de gent que no ha vingut mai al bar. Tot pel fet que el "senyor" no va tenir lloc al bar. Deixant apart això us agraeixo a tots els que heu vingut per primer...

The worst reception I ever had! I waited for 5min before someone actually came to ask us what we wanted. The waiter was passing by us without saying anything. We asked for a table and the guy just replied you can't have for 5 people. A waitress came from the outside and asked how to help, we asked again a table for 5 people and she stated that this wasn't possible. They didn't propose any options so we sit there....how do you even...
