Vicus was an unforgettable experience. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, impeccable service. We were treated with warmth and kindness, with all staff being incredibly nice, patient, and considerate. They served a dish of sautéed local wild mushrooms that blew my mind. The cannelloni with prawns was a fresh, tasteful dish with depth and vibrancy. Even the hot sandwich with jamon, cheese, and truffle, a dish I was surprised to see amongst the rest of the sophisticated menu, was a carefully considered take on street food that raised the ceiling on what I thought a panini could be. Finally, the black rice with squid was complex and full, exhibiting a mastery of extracting the flavor from the fish into the black rice which featured a more saucy texture than traditional paella. Even the bread was impeccable, like bread you would get at expensive Parisian restaurants, and the staff brought us an appetizing first dish with anchovy-stuffed olives that was mind-blowing. On top of all this, they were considerate of my partner’s nut allergy, giving us a full allergen menu ahead of time and making sure to cater to her needs. I'm a foodie, constantly looking for new restaurants to try. As such, I've been travelling the world eating in places ranging from street food carts, to restaurants with two Michelin stars. Our meal at Vicus yesterday evening was superb in every respect. We ordered: Ensaladilla Brioche with spicy red tuna, kale and almond Iberian ham croquettes Confit cod loin, smoked potato cream and pesto Free range chicken from La Vall de Bianya a la catalana and salad with Voler Volar cheese Black rice with squid and pear aioli Torrija Apple Tarte tatin

All of these dishes were excellent, with the black rice, the cod loin, the ham croquettes and the brioche being the absolute highlights. I totally agree with other reviewers that the quality of the dishes is on par or even better than in restaurants with one Michelin star.

Service was very good, warm and friendly. With a party of 4, we paid 236 euro which seemed very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food, and for the service. In fact, it would be hard to find a restaurant that comes close to this quality/price ratio in northern Europe.

we dined here 20th september for a special menu: beer tasting paired with four courses. Firstly, gerard and elisabet treated us warmly and were very passionate and professional. Secondly, the food was sensationally good: smoked eel-greens/citrus, coca w mackerel and aubergine, beef tenderloin with ratatouille, and cheese panna-cotta with honey. Extremely well done, inventive and paired very well with the locally made beers. So, thirdly, Francesco the brewer from WHYM in Girona was very thoughtful in his choosing and helpful explaining his approach, the beers, and how they match the courses. A really pleasant surprise during our brief stay in Pals during our bike trip. Thank YOU! to all at Vicus. And, thank you for the recommendations in Barcelona - we had a fabulous meal...

Very good! Great great value. Forget about going to 3 Michelin star restaurants. Come to this Michelin guide restaurant for food that’s impressive and cost u a fraction of what u would pay in a 3 Michelin star restaurant. Service top notch, polite and classy Ambience, has a local and classy touch to it. Food - really good Pick Al carte, and if u are a party of 2 - I would suggest pick a total of 2 entrees and 2 mains and 1 dessert (to share) and it would be more than enough. (Trust me I eat a lot) The broiche bun with spicy tuna was an insane hit! You must order that. And it’s quite instagrammable. The rice w squid was good and better than the rice w pork.

Magnífic restaurant al poble de Pals. Disposa de parking privat per als clients. La decoració és sòbria, en tons neutres. Els coberts, plats i copes son actuals i ben escollits, de disseny. La cuina és creativa, destacant algun atreviment, com els musclos marinats amb taronja i piparres, pràcticament crus. També molt bo el verat, que serveixen calent i micuit, amb raspadures de taronja i pastanaga. Tomàquets madurs amb síndria i menta, deliciosos, tot i que poc amanits. Un bikini de pernil de jabugo i formatge fos, amb una potser excessivament intensa tòfona. L’aperitiu no demanat van ser unes olives farcides d’anxova, grandetes i fortes de gust. Després les van cobrar dins l’apartat “pa i complements”. La meitat de la carta, al vespre, és d’entrants, i l’altra meitat de segons plats. Les racions no son gaire grans. En el peix destaca el penegal (gallineta) fregit en quadradets, adobat i no molt fet. També el bacallà, que deixen poc fet amb salsa de pèsols (com un hummus no gaire espés). L’steak tartare de bou, picat a mà, picantet. No et demanen com el vols. El timbal de xai esta bo de gust amb una salsa a base de remolatxa interessant. Els postres, molt i molt bons. Tiramisú abundant i boníssim, tarta de formatge insuperable i també pastís de llimona molt ben fet. De petits fours, uns bombons de trufa. La carta de vins és extensa, amb mitges ampolles i magnums, una mica passada de preu però amb referències molt interessants i algun atreviment, com un negre de l’Empordà del 2002 i un muscat més taronja que blanc. No em va agradar que obrissin el vi lluny nostre i vingués a la taula ja destapat, però val a dir que no el vam perdre de vista en tot el procés. En definitiva, una molt bona experiència gastronòmica.
