Restaurant El Pedró — Restaurant in Pals

I was totale not sure, if it‘s a good idea to go to the restaurant in a very touristic place. But after burger place we checked before this option looked better anyway. And I have to say all was good.

We were lucky to get a table without reservation. They do have a lot of waiters, but this is not that kind of exhausting service when you can not put a spoon to your mouth without been asking if you are satisfied. All waiters were really friendly and super helpful. They did share their opinion honestly and offered you dishes with love. It’s super rare.

Food was very good. Side dishes were fresh - not killed vegetables or boring free - grilled variety of everything, asparagus and great baked potato. Unfortunately we had zero space for sweets, but next time we will try it for sure!

Short version:go there, you won't be disappointed. We parked our car just outside the old Town and walked up. The old village has a very nice medieval feel to it, it's nice. To be honest, I think the real must see is El Pedro. It is worth a drive! The dishes are really next level compared to all the touristic restaurants but El Pedro has a lower level pricing point. How they do it? It's beyond me. I had a fantastic starter, apple filled with minced meat and a great main dish, duck with forest fruits. My girlfriend had goat cheese salad and squid as a main. See attached pictures. Dishes were fast on our table and the service was splendid. They have kids menu's too and have kid's chairs. You can sit inside and they have a terrace. We came here following the many great reviews. Location is nice and staff is good. Catalan food is correct. Nothing more nothing less. If it were cheaper we would have one of the many places where you can have decent grilled meat or vegetable in Catalonia or interesting rice combinations. But El Pedró is not cheap so we expect more. There are a lot restaurants with a better offer for this price. So we give them just three stars. I am sure they can do better. I had the meat croquettes for starters. Mostly flour. No meat taste.
