Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype
We were excited to try Brizza in Peñíscola after seeing its great reviews and reputation as a quality seafood restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was a complete disappointment from start to finish.
We ordered a bottle of wine, medlar fruit (musmule), and the lobster paella. The service was terrible – the waiter simply left the wine on the table without even pouring it into glasses. He was also generally rude and inattentive.
The paella was overcooked, burnt at the bottom, and the lobster was dry, tough, and nearly inedible. It tasted like it had been reheated or left out too long. As for the salad – it came in tiny plastic containers with a packet of salt on the side – absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant that advertises itself as high quality.
The waitstaff spoke only Spanish, which made communication difficult, especially when we tried to politely express our dissatisfaction.
The whole setting felt more like a canteen than a proper restaurant, with cheap tables and a lack of atmosphere.
Overall, Brizza was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in Spain. Definitely not worth the money or the hype. We won’t be...
Read moreI recently visited Brizza restaurant in Peniscola and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with my experience there. We arrived at the restaurant at 13 o'clock, which turned out to be the perfect time because it wasn't too crowded yet. We were able to find a nice table with a great view of the blue ocean and enjoy our meal in a relaxed atmosphere. At around 14 o'clock there was a small queue in front of the restaurant. The menu for just 25 euros per person was incredibly generous, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes. We started off with some different claims, langostinos, and gambas, and they were all cooked to perfection. But the highlight of the meal was definitely the big paella de marisco, which was absolutely fantastic.
Not only was the food amazing, but the view of the blue ocean from the restaurant was also breathtaking. All in all, I found Brizza to be an incredible value for the price, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great lunch experience in Pensacola. Thank you for the...
Read moreWe saw some dolphins. That was the good part. It’s a tourist rip-off place. We order paella with peeled seafood. We both still left hungry, there were 4 shrimps and a few pieces of squid in it. That’s it. I pointed this out to the server, who turned around and smiled and called his colleague. They just responded that’s how it is, they are waiters and don’t make any decisions.
I asked to talk to the manager and a boy was called down from an upstairs. I once again mentioned the lack of seafood and the small portions for €36. He just responded, that it’s how they do it with one scoop of rice. No apologies, just excuses. Do not care about customers.
Avoid this place. And see the dolphins from the wall next door instead.
Edit: Adding a photo of ”quality and quantity” as mentioned in the response. Quantity filled 2 small starter...
