My friend and I wanted to eat here by the water, there were three tables with available seating by the sea. We requested to be seated at one of the tables there and the lady that runs the restaurant said those tables were reserved, two of the tables got filled, but it seemed like they were walk-ins. I asked those tables if they had a reservation, they said no, they just got the table right away with no reservation. One of the other tables by the water cleared and before we started ordering we asked to move there, the waiter said one moment, asked the lady owner that originally said no, she said no again - that we still can't sit there. The lady lied...she told us we can't sit there because of reservations, but I asked the two tables that pointed at the tables and got seated and they both said they didnt have any reservations....they just didn't want to have us sit there and would rather have couples sit there.

Acudimos a finales de Agosto a comer mi pareja y yo. Pasamos por delante y había unos carteles que indicaba que había Menús. Había dos tipos, uno de 20€ y otro de 30€, nos explicaron que solo está disponible el de 20€ entre semana pero sería conveniente o que lo indicaran nada más sentarse o que lo retirarán los findes de semana de la vista, ya que tanto nosotros como varias mesas nos sentamos por ello, e incluso hubo alguna mesa que se levantó y se fue, lo que es normal.... Por otro lado, al ser un menú de 30€ se espera una comida de calidad, yo soy valenciana y conozco mucho el arroz y algo que nos choco es que en la carta del menú "arrocero" no hubiera paella valenciana de pollo y conejo, solo de marisco o mixta o arroz negro... Algo que es un poco raro, aún así, nos arriesgamos con el arroz "iberico" del menú, lo cual NO recomiendo para nada..... Pagamos 70€ por 2 aguas, 2 cervezas y 2 menús (Sin postre, solo cafe, porque en la carta indica que preguntes por los postres caseros pero Spoiler, no hay ningun postre casero, solo tarta helada) que constaban de unas ensaladas y el arroz para los dos, que como se ve en la imagen, es pimentón y tomate, con un poco de jamón. Parece más un arroz con cosas que otra cosa. Para mi gusto, dejaba bastante que desear. Igual que la actitud de los camareros, pude decir 10 veces gracias cuando se acercaban a dejar algo y las 10 veces nadie me contestó, así como cuando dejaban algo o retiraban en la mesa tampoco decían nada.... Una actitud un poco pasiva.... Lo mejor del restaurante, la vista y el ambiente, ya que al estar enfrente del mar corre mucho airecito y se está muy bien, pero por lo demás, parece el típico sitio carero para los guiris. A excepción de por la ubicación, no repetiría, sobre todo en finde semana que los precios se disparan y en mi opinión, no corresponden con el servicio y la calidad que ofertan.

Veraneamos por la zona y la visita a Peñíscola es casi habitual cada vez que estamos por aquí. Desde hace unos cuantos años siempre solía comer en este sitio pues me traía recuerdos de niño con mi padre y abuelo. Es un sitio con una terraza muy guapa con vistas al mar ,aunque esté año lo he visto distinto con mesas altas pegadas a la muralla. Pues nada creo que este año ha sido el último,unos precios muy elevados ( entiendo la situación del sitio y algo más podría asumir pagar) ,una jarra de sangría 20 euros o un agua pequeña,porque grande no tienen, 2,80 me parece exagerado . Además el agua no estaba fría ,tuvimos que pedir hielo un par de veces y nos lo trajeron,una piedra para cada uno. Pedimos un menú infantil para la niña de croquetas y patatas fritas por 12 euros y cuando veo que traen 4 croquetas y un puñado de patatas fritas y quede a cuadros. Nosotros pedimos arroz negro con vieiras ,nos traen el arroz con 5 minimejillones de 2cm y dos vieiras que no eran ni vieiras . El arroz pues sin pena ni gloria,algo salado . Lo mejor es cuando viene la dueña diciéndonos que solo nos faltaba rebañar con el pan......pero si no nos habéis puesto ni pan ,no podríamos rebañar nada. No pedimos más comida para no enfadarnos. Nada de postres ni café es más ,ni nos preguntaron. Luego se apresuraron a recoger la mesa a traerme la cuenta sin pedirla y casi inmediatamente a preguntarme si pagaba ya. Como apunte también diré que en el servicio de cenas te obligaban a pedir mínimo tres platos (tapas) , vamos una consumición mínima de 40-50 euros, inaudito. Lo dicho esta ha sido la última vez.

Visited today while on a couples holiday, we sat down on a table, waiter mention that we were english speaking in spanish and commented something to his boss which made us uncomfortable. We didn't like the table we sat down on as the sun was blaring down on my partners back, so we asked if we could take another seat, the waiter had attitude and grumbled but we moved tables. The food was alright but the service was ridiculous, the waiter had us feeling so uncomfortable and not welcomed at all, also had the biggest resting b.... face i have ever seen. The other lads were lovely. We finished our food and was drinking our wine when he slammed our bill on the table too. We paid, drunk our wine real quick and got out of there.. two glasses of wine, some battered shrimps and some croquettes cost us 36 euros... these were starters.. you pay for the view that is it. We stopped in Peñiscola for a drink & ended up in this place. Typical tourist trap, we ordered a cerveza & a NATURAL orange juice, my husband insisted on the "natural" part of the order as he is allergic to the processed stuff, the waitress, who was as unpleasant & grumpy as can be said yes. She then proceeded to bring a glass of processed orange juice 🤦🏽‍♀️ my husband took one sip & didn't drink it, the bill was 8€ in total, they charged 4€50 for the juice 🥲. When I said we specifically ordered natural orange juice made with real oranges, the waiter said well no it is not natural but still charged us. We absolutely abhorre these kind of places that really take you for a cash cow. I wouldn't go back nor would I recommend. Only + is the view 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽...
