wir wollten an unserem letzten Abend in Peniscola sehr gut essen gehen. Meine Freundin hatte noch nie eine valencianische Paella gegessen. Wir wählten dieses Lokal, weil es einen sehr schönen Ausblick aufs Meer hat und gute über Bewertungen verfügte. Die Paella, die wir allerdings bekommen haben, war sehr enttäuschend. Die Portion war sehr klein und die unterste Schicht Reis und einige Bohnen angebrannt. Wir berichteten dem Kellner, dass wir eigentlich nicht zufrieden waren. Dieser sagte auch, dass es ihm leid tue. 2 Minuten später stellte er uns eine Nachspeise auf den Tisch, die wir nicht bestellt hatten. Wir dachten, das sei eine Art Kompensation für die nicht so gelungene Paella.

Auf der Rechnung wurde uns aber auch die Nachspeise verrechnet. Ich sprach den Kellner darauf an, und er meinte, dass er diese irrtümlich bei uns abgestellt hätte. Der Betrag wurde dann auch storniert, was positiv war. Insgesamt war der Eindruck von dem Lokal, aber sehr enttäuschend. Die Portion war einfach viel zu klein für diesen Preis. El restaurante tiene una ubicación inmejorable, en pleno casco antiguo de Peñíscola y con vistas al mar que hacen que la experiencia ya merezca la pena. El local es muy bonito y cuidado, y la atención del personal fue correcta y amable.

La carta es variada y con buena fama en sus arroces, carnes y pescados (según he leído en otras reseñas), que tienen una pinta estupenda. En nuestro caso optamos por pedir tapas: la selección de quesos con pan con tomate estaba buena, aunque quizás algo sencilla para el precio; la pata de pulpo con boniato resultó correcta; y los huevos rotos con jamón y trufa fueron sabrosos, aunque bastante aceitosos para nuestro gusto.
