A day out in peñiscola, a nice getaway. But the food me and my family ate at this restaurant made want to stay at home.
After being seated down we recieved the special menu for 16,95 pp. this gave us the thought that we only could order that particular menu. After asking for the regular menu we were given one sticky menu with the regular dishes.
After ordering we received the food, all separately which I found kind of weird. My sister ordered the hamburger but i guess something went wrong in the kitchen because they forgot to bring the bread aswell. The burger also looked like it had come straight from the mercadona shelves….
The rest of the dishes were all similar and not worth the price/quality ratio. The only thing that tasted good was the beer but you cant really mess that up.
Next to the food we also enjoyed the nice sticky table and occasional fly to accompany our lunch
If you spend a day in Peñíscola avoid this place by all means. You’re better of buying some regular burgers from the local supermarket and eating them in your car…
Conclusion: 0,5 out of 5, the half point coming from the nice...
Read moreI was on my way to another place but mixed it up with this one. I should have walked away from the start. The waiter’s English is as ‘good’ as my Spanish. He didn’t smiled once, felt like his was bored and annoyed by my questions.
I ordered tuna salad hoping that I will get some kind of fresh tuna. What I got is tuna straight from the can as well as the olives (not of good quality either). I was so hungry so I ate it, but for that price 13 euros I just got angry at myself for not walking away. At least the presentation was exactly as it was in the menu 😂 He even got me bread and I said no because it was clearly some old dry bread.
Then he came with the bill where he added the bread. When I pointed out that I didn’t had the bread, he gave me a new bill without bread. It’s not about 1,50€, it’s about the principle.
Not going here again. I do not recommend. Maybe ok place if you wanna have a drink,...
Read moreI came here the day before for a drink and the food being served looked nice. Today I asked for the menu del dia as per board displayed at 14.95 euro. I was told this was not available and was given a different menu. The choice was different, and the quantity and quality was very disappointing to say the least. Salty croquettes (5), potatas bravas (tasteless and fried in old oil) 4 minute grilled sardines ( barely any fish) and 2 sad looking sausages with a few chips. Followed by stale bread, ketchup, mayonnaise and more salt. Desert was a choice of flan with honey or coffee. I presumed this was both not either or. So for 14.95 each this was extremely disappointing. I would never return and would advise others to avoid unless you wish to be underfed...
