The phrase 'menu del dia' is on the menu, but does not include a drink. The menu options seem decent, nothing special. I took the 'special menu' option of bbq pork ribs for 6€ extra, and was unpleasantly surprised. It was two baby back ribs with added bone chunks,not.even worth 6€ by itself, let alone on top of an existing menu. The luke-warm fries that came with it were just sad. The vegetables with the dish was a blob of mushroom, bell pepper and aubergine the size of a large coin.. The only reason I'm giving two stars for the food is the patatas bravas. Lasagne was mostly bechamel., the gazpacho was OK. Atmosphere was plastic chairs with a TV playing annoying Cuban musing, interrupted by the occasional advertisement,hardly matching to the fantastic little courtyard's original atmosphere....
Read moreI've been coming here since I was a young child. It was always excellent for pizza, pasta and paella. Lots of flavour and generous portions. Since the previous owner (Santos) retired, I wondered if it would maintain its quality... it absolutely has!
Particular menu highlights are the mixed paella, the pizza calzone, and the sangria. All taste properly homemade.
The Fontana is in the Pueblo Latino commercial centre, which is a square of restaurants overlooking a central area. This is ideal for families where you can feed your kids, then let them run amok in the centre while you keep an eye on them enjoying after-dinner liquors.
