Restaurante al Palazzo — Restaurant in Pilar de la Horadada

On a recommendation we decided to try this restaurant and unfortunately we are unable to see how this restaurant is rated so highly. Firstly the food quality is average at best - we choose a melon and jamon starter which had hard chewy melon with a nice surprise of plastic included. They love to put balsamic vinegar everywhere including on a calzone! The chicken quesadilla included a lovely crunchy chicken bone - great if your a dog I guess. The kids meal was overcooked and for chicken nuggets and chips - how could it go so wrong? I guess this reflects the restaurant overall. This was proven when we raised our issues - apparently its quite normal to receive plastic with your melon and ham and it's expected to receive chicken bones in your meal...direct feedback from the waiter! No apology or shock that we had raised these issues so this must be normal. Food prices are cheap, I'll give them that, but expect a cheap experience and if your looking for great service you will build more rapport...

Italian & Mexican Restaurant. For starters they served OLD warmed up bread.

For the main course I made an order of burrito and asked for Mexican rice and salsa sauce. Here they ended up serving me normal white rice with bolognese(!) sauce.

The burrito tasted ok, but serving old bread and non-mexican rice with bolognese sauce made a negative impact.

Two friends and myself ate here the other night, and we were all very disappointed. We had 3 different items on the menu from Italian to Mexican, and we all thought it was pretty much tasteless and of bad quality. I've been here once before with the same experience. There are a lot of great places in Torre to eat, this one is not one of them...
