Insgesamt leider nur ein mittelmäßiges Erlebnis. **English:** The Golden Lion has a lot of potential, but unfortunately, there were several downsides. The old bread served with pan y aioli was quite disappointing, and the chicken was dry and flavorless. Additionally, the staff seemed unmotivated and disengaged. Overall, a mediocre experience. **Español:** El Golden Lion tiene mucho potencial, pero desafortunadamente hubo varios inconvenientes. El pan viejo que acompañaba al pan y alioli fue decepcionante, y el pollo estaba seco y sin sabor. Además, el personal parecía desmotivado y poco comprometido. En general, una experiencia mediocre.

The service here is extraordinary, but we must note….you would need to be in the mood for it. Think of it like one of those restaurants where you know you are going to be insulted. Like being served by Basil Fawlty, treated with contempt at every step, but then rewarded with two free shots with the bill.

The chicken is lovely, and cheap. €14 for a half roast chicken with chips and salad. However the ratio of chicken to chips was off, more chips needed.

The atmosphere gets marked down as the outside is infested with wasps, meaning it’s nearly impossible to relax and enjoy your meal.

Would probably return, but more for the comedic value than...

It's my favourite place in Puerto de Pollenca! The most delicious food, great atmosphere and fantastic staff make this place so special. I haven't been here for 7 years and all those years i was dreaming about their special paella and grilled chicken. I was so happy to return last week and see that Golden lion still have the best paella, chicken, calamari and after all these years its still taste amazing! All my family loved it! Maybe I have become a food snob, I came based on the reviews but was very disappointed. Greasy garlic bread with cheese that I didn't ask for. The chicken skewer wasn't fresh, reheated chicken bits. Whoever gave this place stars needs their pallette's educating. Departed wondering at what time in the night am I going to puke up. Asked for the bill and got the dessert menu.
