After having two meals here, evening and breakfast, I can confirm that the food is excellent, and the service is not.
Like most people, I would rather have bad service and great food as oppose to spectacular service and terrible food. If the food is great, I'll even return for a second dose of arrogance and ignorance.
The location of Cass Vila di Mare is great, with elevated views of the ocean you won't be dissapointed.
There appears to be a fair wine selection here too, but as a non drinker, I cannot comment on the quality or value for money of the wine.
The house special of Sea food spaghetti is excellent and cooked to perfection. Some of the best spaghetti I've ever tasted without a doubt. Normally this dish is reserved for a minimum of two people people, but upon request they made it for me without a problem.
My partner had the Casa Vila di Mare's version of the club sandwich, which apparently is excellent with sublime chicken and cheese.
On our return for breakfast, I had the Eggs Royale (first they mistakenly gave me Eggs Benedict which I sent back) which was excellent. My partner had the pancakes which reportedly were great too.
At a fair price, this is a place I recommend for food, so long as you don't mind service without a smile. Also, if you're having dessert, it's likely you will need to tell them you want dessert, as on both occasions I never saw my server after the mains were collected, and needed to go to the bar to ask for the bill.
Either way the food is worth the return and the food alone gains the four stars for this review....
Read moreHad dinner here with my teenage sons while staying in Puerto Pollença, Mallorca, as the atmosphere and food just looked so inviting from the Promenade. The restaurant is well situated at the seafront with an excellent view of the bay. We hadn't booked and while the Restaurant was full (9.00pm Tuesday) we were able to book there and then and come back in 30 minutes. A short walk along the promenade and back later we were seated on the terrace elevated above the promenade. We enjoyed the 'casa villa combo' starter (see pic) which was served on a wooden platter. For the main I had the fillet steak medium rare with four cheese sauce. It didn't disappoint and melted in the mouth. My eldest had the 'Casa Vila' pasta dish with chorizo and meatballs and cleared the bowl entirely. My youngest, a big pizza fan, had the Hawaiian pizza and declared it the best pizza he had had in a while. The service was attentive and no problem speaking English with our waiter at all. The menu offers a traditional florentine T-bine steak cooked on a hot stone at the table, and while we couldn't order it as the 3 of us would never have finished it we did see it delightfully served to a neighbouring table and would return just for that. All in all Casa Vila did Mare is delightful and the food and service excellent. A big thank you to our waiter for sorting us out with a table at short notice and we recommend a visit if you are ever in...
Read moreWhat a dire, awful place. There is a saying about putting lipstick on a pig and that is very relevant here. To start the one star is for location and views. After that it goes terribly downhill. Service was diabolical, a female brown haired lady first has to check if they r booked, it is 6:00pm there are just two people in the whole restaurant. She is aloof and rude, we fetch our own high chair and wonder should we leave sharpish; I wish we had. Service, service, service. It was terrible. Our meals, including the children's, took over 30 mins. And whilst we watched the chef add the final garnish we were almost excited except for the rude waitress who looked like I was wearing a leper bell when I dared to ask about my food. Pork belly, pork great but sauce not nice. Chicken stuffed with cheese was disgusting we left 3/4s of the plate and amazingly no one person asked us if our meal was good. 80 euros for an experience worst than any I have had is terrible. I urge you skip this place unless your drunk or have the...
