First night in Majorca and made mistake of going to Marina. Seated and served by the most uninterested person in the world. I asked for paella, hubby wanted something else but was told paella comes as a minimum 2 portions. Fair enough but surely this should be stated on menu. States paella @ €16.50. Doesn't say each or must order 2 portions. Next the waiter starts dishing up paella on our plates and it turns out it wasn't our order!! We ordered chicken prawn & chorizo paella which did come.....we managed to eat some of it but were put off by bits of chicken bone and grissle throughout it. We ended up eating the prawns and chorizo and not much else. When same disinterested person came to ask if we were finished I pointed to the pile of chicken bones and grissle on my plate and said these bones put us off so we couldn't eat it. His reply "It's because it's chicken" I dread to think what might have been the outcome had it been a child eating it. Definately won't be going back there. Asked for bill and he brought it over and made no attempt to make sure we left...
Read moreAte here last night and the food was delicious. I suppose it all depends on what you want. We both love the Asian influence. He chose the Prawn Rice Wok which was lovely. Hot in temperature (I know, it's a British thing but it's very important to some.) and beautifully spicy. I ordered the Chicken Satay. This came without rice but with lots of chicken and plentiful vegetables which really suited me. All in all a really enjoyable meal with lovely White and Rosé wine and a delicious strawberry gin to start with. We think it's very reasonably priced for the flavours they manage to impart and the lovely presentation. Next time I'm going to try the Chicken, Prawn and Chorizo paella but having read some other reviews I will make sure there are no chopped up chicken bones included. Great food with riendly and efficient staff - what more could...
Read moreIn Europe we have some amazing cities with high end restaurants. An island like Mallorca you go back to the 90's which has it's charme however this stop was a very nice surprise! We took the Serra Nord route buiten scooter (which is breath taking) ending at Port de Pollença, for a very late lunch at Marina. The costs are a bit higher then normal in Mallorca but it is worth it. The exotisch salade is refreshing and Rioja Rosé compliments the dish. However with all the other menu options you really can' go wrong...it is...
