Oh wow! We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Puerto Pollensa, staying at the wonderful MIRAMAR Hotel. We were there about 11 years ago and just had breakfast there. We said at the time, what a wonderful hotel this would be to stay in, and we have now done it!!!! A beautiful hotel, no bling, glass or anything that will age, but a gorgeous well decorated, cosy comfortable hotel which just has that welcoming feel about it. Our room was superb, not overlooking the sea, but we thought that the balcony we had was much nicer than the sea view balconies. But ‘horses for courses’! Breakfast was amazing, so much food and very well presented and cooked. It was exciting to go down each morning to see what goodies awaited us. Most of the staff were very friendly, especially reception, most of the breakfast staff were very nice, but there were one or two that didn’t seem so friendly, but the service was there and that was the main thing. Where the hotel is situated, we couldn’t ask for more - lovely sea deck to relax and sunbathe just over the other side, nice swimming pool which, in the photo looks a bit soulless but it really wasn’t. A nice quiet haven for a dip and relax. Must give a mention to the housekeeping ladies. What treasures they are, so friendly and the room was immaculate each time we arrived back from our day out. So many things we could sing praises about this hotel, but I think this will give an idea of what the hotel is really like. Hopefully we will be back one day, and certainly...
Read moreWe stayed 29/05 - 07/06. It was to celebrate my wife's birthday at the end of May and although we have visited Port de Pollença before and walked past many times, it was our first time at this hotel.||My wife really enjoyed it and it was nice that the restaurant staff brought her dessert with a candle on it and sang happy birthday to her. The staff are all very courteous and friendly.||We stayed bed & breakfast. There is a good selection at breakfast, a variety of both hot and cold options as well fruit, cereals, etc, and even including cava which was made available a couple of times, at weekends. We also had dinner on the terrace a few times, a lovely setting and good food. There is a sunbathing area across from the hotel next to the beach complete with bar. As well as a swimming pool and spa also available to guests behind the hotel next to the Maricel apartments. It was therefore convenient to enjoy use of each of these areas.||Our room was very comfortable, with balcony and stunning sea view. It was nice to relax and watch the world go by with such a pleasant view.||The building is impressive. It has evolved over a long period of time through a series of extensions, though it does not show. It has a consistent quality feel to it throughout and looks as though it had been designed and built in the form it is now with timeless classic charm.||We hope to...
Read moreHotel is well situated , couldn’t have a better location, right in the centre . The hotel is kept very clean and housekeeping work very hard, and always had a smile and always a lovely greeting every morning that we saw them. The staff at breakfast were also very friendly, and also worked hard making sure the food was always replenished and tables cleared right away. The breakfast was lovely with a good choice, something for everyone. Unfortunately, what let it down for us was the room we were allocated, it was at the back of the hotel, which was fine as there was no option when we booked through Tui ( a year in advance) to book a sea view room). However, we did put a request in for a high room (a year in advance) but we were allocated a room on first floor, we couldn’t use the balcony as we felt as though we were sitting right on top of the road, so for us, the balcony was unusable. The room itself needs updating, the floor tiles in bathroom were cracked. seems as though the back rooms get forgotten about. |This was our first visit to this hotel but we won’t be back because of the room. Maybe regular visitors get preferential treatment! We did ask for a room change but the hotel was...
