APRIL 2025 UPDATE!
Google doesn't allow you to make a new review, even after 2 years when anything can happen to a restaurant, so here I am updating a review from a couple of years ago!
We remembered how nice the food was last time so we went again! We went on a Monday night without a reservation and were easily seated (party of 6).
This time we went with the paella for three people and it was really, really good! Real umami taste. I dont think it was as good as the seafood restaurant further along, but a solid 8/10 and i'd definitely order it again.
We also had the suckling pig which was melt in the mouth and falling off the bone, as well as a pizza, and then there was grilled chicken breast and chips for the kids which they absolutely loved - as did we when we tried it. The grilled chicken was absolutely lovely!
The menu has heaps of options especially with Majorcian specialities, and we were watching all the other guests food come out and it all looked amazing - lots of fish which we all said we wish we'd ordered as well.
The other standout again is the service. The wait staff are just really friendly and great with the kids. Yeah it gets busy and they have to run around so you might take a bit longer to get your drinks order in but that's just how it can be sometimes when it's busy.
Amazing place and we will definitely go back next time!
Old review:
The only restaurant we visited twice!
I'm genuinely surprised at some of the reviews here as we only had great service and great food - end of March isn't exactly busy season but there's enough people around that we weren't the only ones in the restaurant.
The menu is quite small but a good mix of pasta, pizza and then Mallorcan dishes. The lechon is the absolute standout - really melty pork with crispy crunchy skin. Absolutely delicious! The lamb chops were good too but slightly different to British or Australian/Kiwi lamb - and this is something we've found with all Mallorcan lamb we've eaten, they're just skinnier things with slightly tougher meat! Not bad at all, just different to what you're used to. But definitely worth ordering!
The kids menu has four options - nuggets, pizza, spaghetti bolognase and grilled chicken with chips. That last one, the kids in the group loved it! A simple, well seasoned and grilled chicken breast went down an absolute treat.
The wait staff were always great with us and the children, checking everything was ok, always there to get more drinks etc, every order was correct and they were engaging. That's why it's so odd to see poor reviews. But people have different attitudes to life I suppose.
The first time we went, we ordered the bread/olives/aioli from the menu as part of the starters so knew it had a cost. The second time we went, the waitress did bring it over automatically, but we knew there was a charge. If we didn't, I can see how some people from some places might feel that's dishonest or deceptive. But not only did we know, we wanted it and even asked the waitress how they make their aioli because we're used to the thicker, yellow French kind and she gladly told us!
As I said, it was the only place we went back too because it was good value, good food, and a good location. Their lunch menu and bocadillos looked awesome too when we walked past, and their plato del dia is excellent value.
I'd happily go back, Google...
Read moreNice people and view there. The beer was pretty intersting. But the food was not my taste.
The bread and garlic butter were pretty good. We enjoyed dipping it.
But the garlic prawn had too much pepper, salt and spicy that they override the taste of prawn and garlic oil. The oil was also yellow/green that there is no oil from the prawn shell which should melt in red color. It was the taste of Nissin Cup Noodles (XO Sauce Seafood Flavour).
The paella was fine, but the prawn turned, it had very strong smell of ammonia. So that batch of prawn may be not fresh or dead during freezing long ago. There was also no socarrat. There were also some small crushed mussle shell in rice.
The chateaubriand was bleeding heavily during the cut. The rest may not be long enough? We were trying to finish the paella so there were time for resting. The courgette was bitter, may be because it was cooked with padron pepper.
Overall, it was pretty over price, considering the best I had in the meal were the...
Read moreYou wouldn't think that there would be many really good restaurants on a crowded waterfront promenade with great food at good prices. But this is one of them! In addition to the usual dishes such as paella and pizza, there is a large selection of Mallorcan dishes and seafood.
We had the mejillones a la marinera as a starter and both the calamar rellenos a la Mallorquina and the calamar al la plancha. Everything was very tasty and attractively presented. The portions are more than sufficient, the pictures can hardly reflect that. The mussels were a large portion, and we even had to have the leftovers of the calamar mallorquina wrapped up, as we wouldn't have managed to eat it all.
The service is friendly, quick and very helpful. Thank...
