Chiringuito "Costa Tranquila" — Restaurant in Pulpí

Nice little place right on the beach in a small cove away from the main tourist area. Fairly typical sort of beach/bar with enough inside and shaded outside tables. Service is very friendly. We both had a bottle of beer, olives, mixed salad and open grill pork loin steaks with chips. Good quality, €35 total. Will visit again whilst we're here and probably go for the grilled sardines and squid or octopus (which looked really good). Paella is available but needs to be ordered in advance - which is generally a good sign. Plenty of parking available there. You have to scan a QR code to see the menu (which is only in Spanish): don't do what I did, which is tap the great big, prominent START button because that sets you off on an account sign-up for something or other (I've probably sold my kidneys online and not realised it). A simple written menu with translations would be easier, especially since you still have to order with the waiter rather than...

Fuimos sin reserva. Nos dijeron que esperáramos. Mientras tomamos una cerveza en la barra. Eran las 14,20 horas y habíamos llegado al chiringuito directamente tras la visita a la Geoda gigante de Pulpi. A esa hora nos dieron mesa. La encargada de la comanda nos dijo que cuando pudiera nos atendería. Lo comprendimos porque el chiringuito estaba lleno. Mientras fuimos por otra cerveza a la barra y nos la tomamos en la mesa con unos frutos secos para la espera. Cuando pasó un tiempo prudencial (media hora), le dije a la encargada de la comanda que no nos había tomado nota. Nos dijo que se había olvidado. Está conversación ya fue en la barra. Cómo excusa, alegó que primero se atendían las reservas. Pues bien, desde las 14,20, hasta las 16,20, como no nos habían servido, nos levantamos de la mesa, pagamos el la barra la consumición de bebida y nos fuimos. Es la primera vez en la vida que nos ha sucedido esto. Y, como es obvio, no achaco esto al personal, que bastante desbordado estaba. La culpa es del responsable o dueño del chiringuito que no contrata a profesionales para atender el negocio. Había un joven en la barra. Una chica fregando platos. Y dos chicas para el servicio de mesa. En la cocina no tengo idea del personal....

Wow! It’s Monday and most places are closed. Been here for a drink before but not to eat. It was a fantastic experience. I had the calamari a la plancha and husband had the chicken burger Calamari was cooked to perfection, one of the best I’ve had, so fresh and tasty. Rosado wine was really nice, light blush. Service was excellent, waitress super friendly and efficient. Oh, and the views!!!! Perfect...
