Have been to this restaurant a few times for the lady jazz/endless bubbles with a group of ladies. There has always been a small issue with someone's meal (usually resolved ) and we have always enjoyed the atmosphere. However, this time 10 of us went to celebrate my birthday (Monday 19th May. Not the bottomless cava). I don't know what's happened but it was truly awful and ruined what should have been a celebration. We were the only table the whole afternoon (2pm booking) and ordered from the lunch set menu. There was only one waitress and it took over an hour to get our starters. We had to ask for the bread rolls. At least the starters were edible. Although, the oxtail croquette starter was served with the same mashed potato, gravy and crisp/hard piece of bacon as the main course of liver. The main courses were a disaster. The 3 chicken breast orders were so over cooked and dry they could not be eaten. The accompanying 1 piece of asparagus limp and lifeless and the dauphinose potato burnt and hard. Needles to say these 3 guests went home hungry. One of the liver dishes had the smallest, driest piece of unedible liver. And the gravy on the liver dishes had a distinct vinegar taste. Another guest that went home hungry. The fish seemed to be the best choice but that was served with 1 piece of thin, limp asparagus and a small very soggy piece of broccoli. The chocolate desert had shrunk in size from previous visits. It was such a tiny portion that we were all a bit surprised. Sadly this is not a fine dining restaurant that it's...

My boyfriend and I had a lovely evening in this restaurant yesterday. The food we ordered was exquisite, beautifully presented and full of flavour. This is one of the best meals we have ever had in the Quesada area (and we eat out a lot!). We ordered spicy prawns and tuna tataki for starters, lamb shank for main course and then the mojito cake for dessert. The starters were lovely. The prawns were perfectly cooked and with just the right amount of heat. The tuna tataki was also very tasty, plenty of food and lots of flavour. The lamb shank was so tender it almost melted on your tongue, and came with a delicious sauce and tasteful pommes anna. The mojito dessert, which was actually a panna cotta with mojito jelly topping, was also very good.

In addition to the exquisite food, the service must also be highlighted. At one point we noticed the grumpy couple at the table next to ours grumbling about slow service, but we know that fresh and well-cooked food takes time and is worth the wait. The chef also came out during our meal and had a chat with all the guests, which contributes to the feeling that the employees in this restaurant are genuinely concerned with giving their guests a good experience. Diana from Latvia is the hostess and manager of the place, and she appeared to be a genuinely lovely person, and also obviously hard-working and committed. She made us feel incredible welcome and taken care of throughout our stay.

Keep up the good work, Diana and your staff. We will be back next year...

This is the worst meal I have had in Spain. Pros – Beef Cheeks fell apart, Waiter was friendly and helpful (to start with), Prawn starter was ok. Cons – Starter -inedible – Hard, stale Boa Buns which should be soft and airy, could have probably hammered a nail into a wall which encased an incredibly salty meat filling and cost 17 euros Main – A very small portion of Seabass, accompanied by soggy cauliflower saturated in a watery spice mix (cannot call this a sauce) and naan bread that was practically Raw, costing 32 euros…. Crazy Main – Beef cheeks were very good, the meat fell apart, however the mash potato was very stodgy, an almost porridge like consistency, which didn’t taste nice. Desert – The actual toffee pudding was nice and light, but the sauce was like a weak gravy ‘sugar water’ which still had brown sugar residue visible where it needed more caramelisation. Didn’t receive any crème anglaise. We wanted to give feedback, and so showed the manager the hard boa buns to which he agreed they shouldn’t be like that. We also fed back (respectfully) the other issues with the dishes. Our bill totalled 95 euros for 2 people, there was no discount for the inedible starter. To be honest I don’t think the food should be charged at any more than 40 euros total for what was received. I wouldn’t go back here again if the food was free. I’m happy to pay for quality like Browns or Voraz, but this food quality was nowhere near but with...

We came to Torrevieja for a 3-day visit, and on our very first day we discovered Budapest Restaurant, where we had the pleasure of meeting the new owners, Diane and her brother Arthur. They had just recently taken over the place, and we were immediately impressed by their warm hospitality and the high quality of the food. Everything was so perfect that we ended up dining there all three days of our stay. I can’t thank them enough for their kindness and the delicious meals they served us. Highly recommended!

3 course lunch. Pate was beautiful but the main meal of chicken with a Diane sauce was not cooked properly it was quite raw on the middle and mash just a say warm veg was one piece of asparagus and a very small piece of broccoli. Sticky toffee pudding was lovely. The staff were good but only 3 staff for 100 people was not good I felt sorry for them running around trying to keep everyone served.
