I’ve been to Azucar de Cuba many times over the last five years and have always have a positive experience. However, today, I ordered a mojito (one of the drinks they’re very well known for and good at) and something was really off. Because I’ve had such positive experiences in the past, I didn’t say anything, I thought maybe it was just an off day. The ladies next to me, however, had the same experience. They, too, ordered a a mojito, and it was really off. By really off - I mean, it tasted like mouthwash mixed with toilet water. I’m not sure if there was too much mint liquor or what, but it wasn’t it’s normal delicious goodness. After we paid, the waiter asked how the drink was, and I was honest with him. We didn’t say anything upfront, we paid the full bill, but I just mentioned how something was a little off, that it wasn’t as amazing as it normally was (I promise, I wasn’t fully honest about how horrible the drink was because of how many positive experiences I’ve had there). The waiter immediately got extremely defensive, discounted my feedback, and walked away. While I really used to enjoy this bar, I’m completely taken aback by that waiter’s behavior. I can deal with a bad drink, but I can’t deal with completely discounted, rude behavior when I was nothing but kind and fully paid for our drink but was just honest about how the drink was off. If I was rude or persistent about how bad the drink was, sure. Maybe I deserved that service back. But we were very kind, didn’t say anything, paid our full bill and tipped, and then briefly mentioned that kindly when pointedly asked. The waiter discounted me, blew me off, and just walked away. I’m still blown away by that treatment, and for that, won’t...

This is a fun resturant, the food is fusions of several different countries, we started out with the Columbian empanadas they are a crispy corn flour on the outside with a savory beef filling the salsa with it adds a nice fresh pop, the second item was the pork belly with Wasabi sauce the pork belly was very good the Wasabi could have been stronger however Spain may not be use to that type of spice in your nose, The 3rd item was the ceasar salad with crispy chicken then salad is enough for 2 or 3 two things they should put in a bigger bowl and add more of the delishious fried chicken! Yum! Also this salad has plenty of tomatoes, two different cheeses and croutons it's not really a ceasar but it's delishious! The 5th item was the plantains with the bologna sauce dip, this was different, the bologna sauce is very good I am not sure the plantains really good with it, that bologna sauce is really good maybe garlic bread triangles would be better? The sauce is bomb! All in all the resturant is very good, we will be back, to try a few more dishes before we leave. The staff is great, the atmosphere is fun on the beach watching the wind surfers!...

My boyfriend and I had the best night ever at Azúcar de Cuba! Awesome atmosphere, great servers and nice music. After a few dissapointing visits at some of the local restaurants, we wanted our last night to be extra special. And boy, was it! When we came to the bar, there was live cuban music, which made the whole experience so much better. (Though, if you're looking for a quiet place to eat, this is not it). Our waiter (Maria) took good care of us, and made sure that we understood the concept of the menu. We got the best cuddlefish we've ever tasted for starters, and the main dish was just as good. - Finally some awesome tasting food! After we finished eating, we ordered a few drinks from another waiter, a Romanian guy (we didn't catch his name). He was really nice as well! He took his time to recommed drinks for us, small-talk.. Just all those things that makes a night out feel extra special. After some nice tasting drinks, it was time to leave, and here we got the best shot, we've ever tasted. Omg..! We whole heartely recommed this bar to everyone who is in the mood for some good, beachy, cuban vibes and a night they will...

This is probably the best restaurant in Rota! From the on the beach setting to the amazing from scratch cuisine, you cannot beat this place. This place has a family friendly lounge environment with a high class menu and friendly staff. My husband and I casually relaxed on a cushioned bench, while watching the waves and sipping a mojito. We ordered the pico de gallo with avocado, Cuban tamales and Supreme salmon with Iranian pistachio and coconut curry. Everything was delicious, fresh and clearly made to order. Definitely give this place your patronage. Thanks!!
