Restaurante El Duke — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

We walked by this place a few days before and talked with staff. They invited us in but left us alone when said not today.

We went back on Friday and were welcomed in. They spoke good English which made it easy for us, the staff are friendly and saw to us quickly.

We both had steak, I had a fillet and my wife had sirloin. That with water, soft drinks and cocktail came to around 55 euros which was great.

The food was amazing, it was so delicious and the steaks cooked perfectly. We went for medium rare and they were so juicy and full of flavour. There was no need to add salt or other things but the garlic butter sauce provided was great too.

My wife had chips and said they were okay, but I had a jacket potato and it was so fluffy inside. The portion size was good and the staff so friendly but not overwhelming. They stayed away but were there if you wanted anything.

This place is an absolute gem. Really friendly staff, Ellie, Karim, Eric and one other who's name we didn't get but was very cheeky and funny. The food is excellent, very filling and great portion sizes for the price which is very reasonable. We even asked for fajitas one night which aren't on the menu, Ellie checked with the chefs and asked us what night we'd like them. They got the ingredients and brought them out to us on the night we returned and they were delicious. Cannot rate this place highly enough. During our stay in Gran Canaria we had dinner at El Duke 6 times. Usually during our vacation we tend to always go for a new restaurant, but we loved this place so much, we kept coming back!

The staff is amazing, really friendly and professional. The food is amazing as well! My personal recommendations are the Cordon Bleu with mushroom sauce, the meat skewer with Mexican sauce and the Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon. That last one was the most tender piece of meat I ever had!
