Trattoria Anima Sarda — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

We found this gem on Google. It is hidden away and in a complex, so it looks as though it is for residents only. It isn't and we thoroughly recommend it! Mussels, black pasta, truffle pasta, tuna, seafood mixed grill and the most delicious bottle of Sardinian rosé to top it off. Helpful, friendly and attentive service and delicious food. A real find and the best meal on our hols yet. We were a family of 4. 2 of us had 3 courses, 2 had two courses plus 2 x soft drinks and the bottle of wine came in at just under 200 Euros. Worth every cent. The only reason for 4 for atmosphere is outside of the control of the owners, a Sardinian chef and his wife. We got there at nearly 9 p.m. and once the other table left, it was just us. We had a really fabulous meal and evening here. 11 mins walk from holiday world and 20 mins from Caybeach Princess where we were staying. A pretty disappointing experience. The service was not exactly welcoming when we arrived and turned semi-hostile when we were asking for food after an hours wait. Even the chef came to our table explaining angrily how the rice takes half an hour to cook. I guess ”fresh” means starting everything from scratch instead of fresh ingredients in this restaurant…The food (seafood couscous and raviolis?), when finally arrived, was not great and definitely not...

The food was beyond exellence, service very professional and yet comfortable and personal. We had mussels in tomatosouce and in whitewinesouce, the rations were huge and our tastebuds was swellin of anpatino for the next mouthful. For the maincourse we had Dorade, wich was cooked to perfection with delicious tomatosouce. With this we drank a very nice whitewine from the south part of Sardenia.
