Restaurante El Portugués — Restaurant in San Pedro del Pinatar

The worst service ever. Walking on the pavement towards the restaurant and the scruffy waiter (male at the door) not even knowing if I'm going to go in, adamantly, asking me to wear the mask (I would understand if I was walking inside). People coming in and out with no masks and the bloody scruffy waiter doesn't tell them anything.

The place is well overpriced for such an under rated place, and the food is just average, if not mediocre. Only went in because my friends made me go in. 3 of them put knives and forks on one of the plates to be taken away, and another waiter made us take them off, as she was not replacing them (we didn't even know whose were whose). Never again. Bosses should look carefully at who they employ.

NICE to see how you take negative comments. You don't like them, shouldn't be on social media or business. I spoke 100% the truth, your problem if you don't believe it. Your comment is just as your service, full of ... (I'll save the word). And yes, you are WELL OVERPRICED. Ask you young waitress with glasses if she said "you better take the knives and forks off the plate". 3 sets of knives and forks, is it that difficult to replace them??? Ask the scruffy waiter if he asked me to put my face mask off when I was not even intending to go in, as I was WAITING for the others to arrive.

A simple apology would've been the right thing to do. But you have shown what kind of business person you are. And do not worry, my friends won't invite me there, as they won't go either after the terrible service.

So instead of correcting what's wrong, give your staff a big congratulations. I won't bother to answer to you as you have proven you have no...

Nos encontramos de vacaciones en la zona y hemos decidido dar un paseo por los baños de lodo hasta la punta de las algas, así que, se nos ha hecho muy tarde...como siempre... Decidimos cenar por la zona y como no conocemos nada, miramos por internet a ver que nos aparece... El primer sitio que nos aparece es el restaurante portugués, sirven comidas tradicionales, así que sin pensarlo mucho, decidimos ir... Eran pasadas las 22:00 de la noche, nos costó un poquito aparcar, la terraza estaba a reventar, no llevábamos reserva y encima era tarde, así que las esperanzas de poder cenar eran más bien escasas... Mucho más lejos de lo que cabía esperar, nos atiende una mujer muy amable y sorprendentemente nos dice que sin problema, resulta que es la dueña...nos invita a pasar... Una vez sentados, nos atiende una camarera (Noelia) y un camarero (Javier)de la misma manera, con mucha amabilidad y simpatía, nos resuelve unas dudas, nos da su recomendación sobre lo que podemos pedir y nos toma la demanda... Pedimos para cenar varias tapas (alitas, caballitos de gambas, buñuelos de bacalao, unas chuletas de cordero, unos calamares a la andaluza y una hamburguesa) para tres personas... Además del servicio rápido, nos damos cuenta de que la comida es exquisita y abundante...de hecho, tenemos que pedir un táper porque fuimos incapaces de comernos todo lo que habíamos pedido pero...si que hubo sitio para el postre...eso no puede faltar... Resulta que tienen una gran variedad de postres caseros y me decanto por pedir profiteroles... Me pone un plato con tres, que eran de grandes como una pelota de golf, con trufa, sirope de chocolate y otro que parecía chocolate blanco por encima y nata por los lados....solo de verlo ya se me caía la baba...una maravilla de postre...no chupé el plato por que mi pareja me riñó... Una vez terminado pedimos la cuenta, salimos a unos 20€ por persona, lo cual...no nos parece nada caro... Nos gusto tanto que antes de salir del restaurante, ya cogimos mesa para comer al día siguiente...

En resumen, un restaurante muy recomendado, con un trato muy cercano, con calidad y cariño en cada uno de los productos y comidas...

We had lunch here last Friday . We wanted find somewhere new to dine with friends. Well it will not be here. The place is very unwelcoming. We asked to sit inside as it was very hot. 30c. As we had not booked we couldn't go inside even though the place was empty. We were placed round the side with a waiter who was obviously not happy to see us. No smiles just grunts and rolling of his eyes. We give him our order without a word from him. Then we had the fastest three course meal of our life. A very unpleasant experience.
