Bar Puratapa — Restaurant in San Roque

Have been last year and tried again last night. You sit on very high stools so no good for wheelchair users as tables are very high. The menu is only in Spanish but the staff can explain in fairly good English what things are. One of our family member is Vegan so her choice was very limited but she had an Asparagus dish which she said was ok. Also there was an Aubergine dish but it never arrived and it wasn't on the bill so we don't know what happened. Dishes are reasonably priced €2-€5 but they come up randomly so one might get theirs before another and in no particular order I.e. main before starter. I had this Chicken and Yoghurt Salad with Apple and Walnuts which was absolutely fabulous and so tasty but then I had a mini vegetarian burger which was not to my liking. Another chicken dish which came up deep fried was not to mine or my granddaughter's taste so we left that. Her meat burger she enjoyed and had it last year. My husband had hummus with piri piri prawns which he enjoyed plus a Calamari dish which he loved. He ordered another hummus but that never came but it wasn't charged. It's a shame the menu isn't in English which would have meant we might have tried more foods without the need for explanation as it was busy and obviously the staff haven't a good command of English or the...

Puratapa used to be my favourite restaurant in this part of the Costa del Sol - innovative and tasty tapas at excellent value, with relaxed but efficient staff. I believe that the management changed fairly recently and there has been an adverse impact on the quality of the place, but hopefully it will recover because there's a good deal to appreciate still. Overall the food and service are inconsistent but it's easier not to mind when you're enjoying a lovely Rueda at 3 euros a glass. Food wise I recommend the tuna tartare, the BBQ pork ribs, cuttlefish croquettes, stuffed courgette flower and the presa iberica. No recomendable si quieres comer de verdad en Torreguadiaro, pedanía de San Roque.

Fuimos a tomar unas tapas a esta tapería Puratapa y nuestra primera sorpresa fueron los precios de las tapas de entre 4 € y 8 € y pensamos que a esos precios serían de buen tamaño, pero no, a penas unos pocos bocados y poco más, es decir, tapas minúsculas a un precio excesivo para ser en una pedanía de San Roque, buenas de sabor pero muy caras al ser tan pequeñas.

Nuestra segunda sorpresa fue el precio de las bebidas: 4€ por un botellín de cerveza, 3,50 € por un tinto verano, agua 3 €... muy caro también, comprendería estos precios dentro del puerto de Sotogrande, pero fuera, en Torreguadiaro, es incomprensible.

Tercera sorpresa: sólo pedimos unas bebidas y unas tapas que no necesitaban pan, como una hamburguesa, un taco del pastor... y nuestra indignación fue al pedir la cuenta, nos habían metido 3 € en el ticket de aceitunas y tres raciones de pan sin haberlos pedido ni haberse servido a nuestra mesa.

En definitiva, no lo recomiendo si quieres tapear de verdad, a esos precios y con el minúsculo tamaño de las tapas, prepara bien la cartera porque la cuenta será grande si quieres comer aquí.

En referencia a su respuesta, sí había tapas a casi 8 €, recuerdo 7,80 una de ellas, por eso he redondeado el intervalo, soy profesor de matemáticas y así se hace en estadística. Al ver los precios, elegimos las más baratas.

Y no es regalar nada, consiste en cobrar precios razonables en la que todos ganemos según la regla general que se usa en hostelería de multiplicar por 4 el costo del producto, está claro que usted no la sigue y sólo busca su mayor beneficio a costa del ocio de los demás.

Y del cobro indebido de 3 € por aceitunas y pan que ni pedimos ni nos sirvieron, no tiene...
