Inboca Gastrobar — Restaurant in San Roque

It's been a while since I had such a bad experience in a restaurant!

It started when we arrived and a waitress came to get our drink orders. We asked if there's a menu but they didnt have. Fine.. We wanted to have a bottle of wine, but then again no menu for wines. She was already very unfriendly to start with and annoyingly pointed at the bottles they have and said to pick one we like. We had no idea what we were going to pay, so in order to not have unpleasant surprises when the bill comes we asked the price of 2 bottles we liked. She didn't knew so she checked and came back to tell us. This whole thing costed a lot of time, why not just give clients a menu for drinks?

Then quite a bit later another waitress came and gave us a small menu and explained us the food we could order. We didnt knew right away what we wanted so she was coming back later. The "later" was at least 45mins?? and it didn't help that I was starving! We tried to get her attention multiple times but without luck. 1 time she noticed and said "un momento" and another 20mins passed. We asked 3 other waiters if we could order but they said they dont pick up orders and all pointed at that waitress again who was of course running around everywhere. Why do you have 4 waiters staffed when you can only order with 1??

So after a long time we finally got our food and 1 of the guests passed by and was asking about a tapa we ordered. We said it was the tuna and she mentioned that they dont see this on the menu they have received. It turned out that we received a "special menu" with only a few things on it while they apparently had a lot more. Also the prices of the special menu were double the price of the menu these other guests have received.. Is this some sort of scam or why wouldn't you give all your clients the same menu??

Only good thing about this place I can say is the food, that was delicous. Kudos to the chef. Also only 1 of the waiters was actually friendly and attentive, also kudos to him.

La comida buena tirando a regular, pedimos unas croquetas de buey y para el precio que tiene (4,20€) te traen 3 croquetas peladas, de sabor buenas pero tampoco son para tanto, tamaño diminuto. Hablamos del arroz negro, de sabor bueno tirando a normal (los he probado muchísimo mejores) a parte en el fondo del plato muchísimo aceite, que se me repitió toda la tarde. Precio (7,50€) El vacío de ternera, que claramente se entiende lo de vacío porque 3 cuartas partes del plato viene vacío ya que en cuanto llegó a la mesa a mi pareja y a mi nos dio risa ver ese filetito que era de juguete, más pequeño que una mano, un poco vergonzoso hasta el punto que nos dio la risa de ver la ridiculez que había en el plató. Precio (7,00€) Pidiendo sólo eso nos íbamos a morir de hambre porque las cantidades son diminutas. Tuvimos que pedir más, así que pedimos un tartar de atún que estaba bueno pero demasiado sazonado y picante para mi gusto, la decoración de los kikos triturados lo veo muy sobrado en el plato, algo muy salado para lo salado que es el tartar o así venía, no combina para nada. Precio (7,50€) Mi pareja se tuvo que pedir un secreto de angus, salteado de setas y ajetes ya que con el vacío no tenia ni para un tentempié, bueno pero nada del otro mundo. Precio (11,00€) Le pongo los precios, porque para nuestra sorpresa todos los precios son sin IVA, cosa ilegal que cualquier restaurante sabe, ya que es sancionable con multas muy altas. Lo mejor de todo que fijándome en las reseñas tienen cartas que no dan esa información. Hasta donde llega mi entendimiento todos los precios deben ir con IVA, el cual no tenían incluido pero no solo eso, la bebida tampoco e incluso no aparecen en la carta ninguna bebida escrita, es decir que incluso lo que no tienen puesto en carta también va sin IVA para hacerle un suplemento más a la cuenta. Mi suplemento fue de (5,18€) más. Nefasto por parte de este local. La atención de los camareros cordial y dentro de lo normal bien. Adjunto imágenes de carta, tickets y comida. Por descontado han perdido 2 clientes, ya que no iré nunca más. No es para nada recomendable en comida, ni en tema de precios sin IVA, en los alrededores hay restaurantes con una calidad muchísimo más alta que merece mucho más la pena ir. Was planning on going somewhere else but couldn't find parking and there was a space outside. It's a gastro bar with a modern take on tapas and is very popular with Spanish clients. Food was in the main quite good although one dish was served lukewarm. Service however was very slow - friends of the place got served promptly and efficiently and even though my wife has fluent Spanish we had to keep attracting attention. Asked for salt twice to go with the chips on our egg and ham and eventually received one tiny packet. It seems very reasonably priced but prices don't include IVA which is wrong.
