What a shame I've been here a few times but I might not go again, came for my dinner this evening with my wife I've ordered a salad Nicoise as a starter then fillet steak main and my wife fish and fries but I've had to get the staff to get a drink my starter arrives along with my wife's main course which i said i wanted the two main courses together ,but the staff never bougtherd we just sat there couldn't get a drink its like the staff need someone to run the place but its a massive disappointment because the food here is superb, the service is not good which as spoilt my whole evening after we had driven from Marbella to eat there there is a basic level of service that you need acknowledgement when you arrive , service for drinks starter main courses, not things all together or not at all and sat there while the staff just walk past you never stop to ask if you want or need anything so tonight my starter came out with my wife's main course which I asked separately but you you don't want to send the main course back because it would be just sat on the side but because my salad starter was a small one on my request I thought my main would arrive halfway through my wife's main course but no my wife finished and we sat there after I was doing most of the work trying to get the attention of the staff so I took the decision to sit and see how long it be before some came but they didn't so I went inside to pay for what I did have then they realise that we've been forgotten about so after 1hr 10m I had half a tuna salad a fish and fries 1 shandy and a cider please sort your service out if you need advice on this ask me because that was my business for 25 years and being vigilant and having a vision of your whole restaurant is vital and if you want to do it it's wonderful if you can not be bothered don't be there please get in contact my booking was for 15/7/24 under the...
Read moreI took my wife here for dinner on Friday night, we like the menu because it pretty much has something for everyone! Lots of choices! We had both decided on pizza, my wife taking a four cheese and myself the pulled pork, When they arrived they both looked fabulous and of a good size, mine was delicious I loved it, but my wife's four cheese arrived slightly colder and some of the cheese wasn't fully cooked, but no trouble, the waitress took it back and it came out perfect and she loved it! Pretty much after that though we were never approached again to ask if everything was ok or would we like another drink, we just sat with empty glasses until we asked for the bill, which after 20 minutes still hadn't arrived, eventually we did get a waitress to fetch it and we paid, the price for the two pizza's one red wine and a coke just under 34⏠which was very good, but I couldn't help thinking how much more they could have sold me if the front of house staff were not just a little bit more attentive but actually attentive at all, the service here really does leave a lot to be desired, the guy behind the bar looked stressed all the time and the rest of the staff out front really just dragged themselves about looking like I really can't be bothered and just want to go home! They paid little to no interest in their tables and customers which is such a shame as the food and menu here is very good, The presentation of the dishes coming out of the kitchen looks fabulous, and the flavours of the pizzas were delicious! A little bit of staff training or managerial presence on the front of house would go a long way here also accompanied by a little passion and enthusiasm for the job and their customers from the...
Read moreSat down for coffees under the pretence we would then order lunch (which was communicated to our waitress who had a strong start). It then began drizzling- drizzle in Sotogrande must be acidic and sent from Al Queda as the wait staff started screaming as if the pentagon had been hit for us to run inside (to no available tables). Once a table was sourced we then became the hairy lemon, sitting, waiting, and sour. An hour lapsed and three requests were made before we could order food. Food arrived in sparse intervals sans apology or acknowledgment. What did arrive was sad, soggy, and sinful. In between being accosted by wait staff at multiple points and disappointed by food we managed soil a decade worth of happy memories and recommendations at the Hairy Lemon. Will not be returning and will be spreading the negative news. Shame. You know it was bad because our quintessentially British never-make-a-fuss-or-complain step mum is now searching for the âphilosophical bonuses of the experience we just had such as sitting...
