I was stunned by how good this was. The tables were almost all occupied and right before I entered, a group of four beat me to the door. I was stumbling while locking up my bike outside, anxious to have some positively praised pizza—like a fool on prom night. Thankfully, I was met by a patient restauranteur. I only say she was the owner by her level of patience with me. No one paid by the hour would been so kindly genuine—especially in the Basque Country. With help and prompting, I placed my order worried if my first time here would be memorable. Soon after ordering, my meal was brought to me. Undeserving of how good this was, I was only upset I ordered just one with a Calzone to go. Alas, I had to bike back to Bilbao....
Read moreI've had delivery from here before and it was great, but this time we went to collect and I tried the "panzerotti" (they aren't fried, they bake them in the oven so really they are mini calzones). The one I had was some kind of ham and cheese. They are absolutely brilliant and I might even say that they are nicer than their regular pizzas (which are fantastic!).
Speaking of the regular pizzas, I had the Limeña which has coriander, lime, and red onions. It was so fresh and tangy that it was a refreshing change. I've also had their diavola, which was among the best I've ever tried as they use real Italian spicy sausage.
I will try the marinara next time and hope that they do a thick chewy Napolitano...
Read moreVarios años pasando por la puerta de esta bonita pizzería a unas horas de no comida y sin poder degustar sus prometedoras pizzas. Este año y de casualidad pasamos de nuevo a horas de cena y no perdimos la oportunidad. Aun con el local lleno, decidimos intentarlo y et voilà…una pequeña mesa libre y una amable camarera rubia como rezaba en las reseñas que vimos (pero ya era hora de ponerle su bonito nombre de Elisabeth, como así nos dijo ella misma), nos regala ese pequeñito espacio con la misma amabilidad y profesionalidad que el resto de la plantilla. Con la intención de pedir una pizza como las muchas que clientes recogían para llevar a casa o degustaban en sus mesas, vemos en la carta los “panzerotti”, similar a media calzone como Elisabeth nos explica….. Dioooooos mío!!!! Nos pedimos uno por persona para probar y….Qué cosa más rica como no he probado jamás en una pizzería del mundo mundial. Qué masa fina crujiente, qué ingredientes fundidos todos en el interior, qué queso chorreante,… Claro, nos pedimos otro. Quéeeeeee rico todo. Y junto a los Apperol fresquitos que pedimos, todo un manjar. Para terminar con un tiramisú que estaba de muerte. Ya habrá tiempo de comer pizza cuando quedemos cansados de los “PANZEROTTI”. Ahora ya será visita obligada a la Pizzería Paparazzi cuando volvamos a Donosti. Viva el...
