Garraxi Taberna — Restaurant in San Sebastián

One of the worst places I’ve been in my whole life. I couldn’t even finish one of the dishes. I’m very open to food and to be honest I’m actually impressed that there are so many stars in this place. The mushroom pudding looked and tasted like dog food coming from a can, and that’s rather kind way to put it. I don’t want to be mean and I respect who work here. But how a chef can think is reasonable to serve this? We had some vegetables soaked in oil on top of some kind of quinoa without any sauce or flavour. Then some peppers with some kind of béchamel on top… the only good thing was the fried mushroom. I have eaten in many vegan restaurants and this is absolutely worst of them all.

Just thinking about makes me sick of my stomach just like I went there.

I don’t know if this was a bad day. But one of the worst experiences restaurant of my life that I will never forget.

Atmosphere and...

I love this place. I eat here pretty regularly and it never disappoints. The lunch menu Monday-Friday is one of the best deals in town. Their dinner and weekend menus are great too but not as much of an amazing deal. I'm not a vegetarian but I need my fill of veggies and greens in Spain and this place always does it for me. Even if they don't have an option on the menu of the day for celiacs (this is rare), you can tell them you are gluten free and they will always accommodate. They are amazingly knowledgeable on food allergies and as much as I can eat in Spain, it's nice to sit down for a meal and know that I don't even have to think about...

Booooo. Siguiendo con la racha de ir a sitios a donde hace tiempo no iba, el otro día volví a venir a Garraxi. Creo que todos mis compañeros de la clase de los girasoles me han escuchado hablar de este sitio, y eso que no hablo mucho. Booooo Es la primera vez que veníamos en un día no laborable, y que por tanto, no pedíamos el menú del día (que merece muchísimo la pena porque sales rodando y con la panza llena de felicidad a un módico precio). En total nos salió al rededor de 27€ por persona. De entrantes pedimos los nuggets y el queso brie con hongos. Lo último estaba fantástico, lo volveré a pedir seguro (y aunque nunca he sido muy fan del pollo, ni del no pollo, los nuggets también estaban ricos, las salsas muy suaves ambas) Booooo De plato principal pedí pasta con pesto, y aunque al inicio reconozco que el pesto no me terminaba de convencer, luego me gustó mucho. Todo un detalle el queso a parte y personalizado a cada plato. Mi madre se pidió una ensalada y algo de lo que no me cansaré de repetir, es que si te gusta comer ensaladas y nunca has ido a un local especializado en comida vegetariana/vegana, estas perdiendo tiempo (y dinero). De los únicos locales donde miman las ensaladas con el mismo cariño e intención que el resto de platos. Booooo En general la comida de este local me gusta un montón, pero... ¿los postres? A otro nivel. Pedimos tarta de queso y tiramisú vegano. La tarta de queso estaba bárbara, con garrapiñadas encima y un queso cremoso y ligero. El tiramisú también estaba muy bueno pero llevaba algo de licor y yo soy un niño de cinco años, por lo que el sabor me pareció un poco fuerte (a mi madre le encantó) booooo En conclusión, un local tranquilo y acogedor, ambiente familiar y cercano, con camareras profesionales y agradables, buen servicio y precios razonables.
