Trattoria La Mila — Restaurant in San Sebastián

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. When we arrived, we asked to be seated outside, and the host, a young woman, took us to a table outdoors. She said she would bring a chair but instead stood around outside seemingly doing nothing with the menu.

After finally getting the chair ourselves and sitting down, we waited over 15 minutes with no service. Nobody came to take our order, offer water, or even acknowledge us. I eventually went inside to ask if someone would be helping us, only to be told by another staff member that the restaurant does not serve outside and that we would have had to place our order downstairs and carry it out ourselves.

This was never communicated to us at any point. It was incredibly frustrating, especially since there were other people already eating outside, which made it seem like full service was available. We ended up leaving, having wasted our time.

I definitely see myself wanting to go back and eat here from time to time. The food is very good and cozy like it's made at home. It's too bad I didn't get to taste the pizza but maybe for next time. The focacia itself is already very filling but when I had a bite of that linguini negro pasta, I just couldn't get enough of it. I am a sucker for squid ink pasta so maybe this is a bit biased but I just love how even though there's quite a lot of ingredients in the pasta, the overall flavor is still quite distinct and not overpowering each other. I wanted to finish it so bad but because I couldn't I took it home and ate it again that night just because I really wanted more of it. The lasagna was also good, it's very simple and not hard to love. The only problem we had with the place is that there is no cell signal because it's located in the basement but it also just means you should enjoy the company of who you came there with. Im not sure what happened. They took half an hour for half of our food. The food tasted a little warm and the lasagna I had was too watery. Fast forward an hour later, we haven't recieved our food and we told the staff. They replied that it was coming and that we shouldn't worry. Another half hour passes and we still didn't receive our food. We were still missing 8 dishes and they were only serving food to all the tables but us.
