Today we had lunch at LABARRA CUGAT and I must say that although the food was Good, the service was NOT nice when they denied a glass of water, and I mean a very simple glass of tap water to my son. What was my surprise when they told me: “We don’t give a glass of tap water, if you want a glass of water you will have to purchase one of our bottles!!!” I insisted it was for my son, but they replied “Unfortunately we Do Not give a glass of tap water!!” So if you experience any discomfort in your throat and need a simple glass of tap water be prepared because you will have something else coming. I don’t believe for a second that these people are not aware that by law you cannot deny a glass of water in a restaurant. Come on!! Much less if we’re talking about a young person asking for it. Simply disgraceful !!
Response from the owner: Good morning, regarding not offering a glass of tap water for your son, we would like to comment that in our restaurant tap water is not considered to be of a good quality to be served in the restaurant, we do not have machines to remove impurities and treat it as they do in other countries that already ask for it at no cost to the diner [tap water]. How should our staff act? If it is a child, an elderly person, even a pedestrian who is unwell in front of our premises without being a customer... open a bottle and serve the water to that person, never charge them, of course, do not serve them from the tap. If on the other hand, and this will not be your case, a customer wants to avoid paying for the child's water, he/she should understand that it is a business where water is just another consumption and we consider it as another soft drink. Well I’m sorry but I do hope that your kitchen is NOT using any tap water in its cooking or the food will also be considered NOT to be of a good quality to be served in the restaurant. I find it really greedy that you try to make money or business out a child glass of water. Cooking with bottled water is NOT profitable so I think it could be worth making your tap water safer for human...

abans el menu estava mes que correcte, gros, divers i gustos. les ultimes vegades que hi he anat decebuda, perque cada vegada hi ha mes plats en suplement que abans no ho eren… com per exemple l’amanida de burrata, els bunyols o la sindria. tambe abans posaven una ampolla d’aigua + una beguda a triar, ara nomes una ampolla per taula.
puc entendre la pujada de preus pel tema de proveidors, pero crec que cada cop hi ha menys a triar. enlloc de fer plats mes economics o donar altres opcions dins del menu, simplement suplement a punta pala. i et quedes amb 4 coses per triar.
deixant aixo de banda, hi vam anar unes amigues i van haver plats TERRORIFICS.
vam agafar l’alberginia fregida i era DOLENTA amb ganes. sosa, poc cruixent (com estava servida amuntagada la d’abaix acabava tova estil blandiblu) i amb un fregit que feia quedar aquosa l’alberginia. la salsa literalment era un bibero amb un liquid espes i enfortit. potser hauri sigut millor integrarla mes al plat, sense salsa estava soso i on hi posaves la salsa era tan intens que resultava molest.
l’humus bonissim i super variat d’ingredients, l’acompanyaven 5 torradetes fines i petites. pero sent tant cuidat i resulton, amb 5 torradetes ben poc fas, la persona que el va demanar va acabant menjantho a cullerades. potser amb mes pa o crudites de verdura hagues resultat millor.
els canelons bonissims com sempre
els ous i el peix molt bons. pero arribem al provolone i el mateix que l’humus, quasi sense pa per la quantitar que regeix el plat. hi havia una base de patata, pero es tant “fato” que no podies menjar-ho tot. creiem que s’ha de repensar, posar coses per sucar, menys quantitat i reinventar el plat, posar acompanyament…
cal dir que qui va demanar l’alberginia i el provolone era la mateixa persona, aixi que ja us podeu imaginar com va sortir i en quines sensacions del restaurant.
tiramisu i cheescake espectaculars. nosaltres voliem el postre que era de nata pero no en quedava aixi que vam triar el “carles”. tornem a tenir el mateix problema, un plat amb xocolata pura i dura i les torrades minimes que es veuen a la foto. no em repetire mes, pero el pa amb oli i xocolata es pot servir d’altres maneres.
potser menys quantitat i plats mes pensats, amb producte mes senzill pero mes cuidats en total. el personal amable

The restaurant itself is well decorated and lit, very welcoming and comfortable. All the staff were very attentive and friendly.
