Restaurante El Limonero — Restaurant in Sant Josep de sa Talaia

What a fantastic experience we had at El Limonero during our recent visit. Margilen and her partner Andrew are the hostess/head chef and provided us with 5 star service and quality of food from the moment we arrived.

There were 3 in our party and we opted to allow them to choose the dishes for us based on a set price. Over 2 hours, and a few bottles of very good (yet well priced!) wine later we had to make the decision to ask for the food to stop. During that time we had been treated to a steady stream of contemporary and traditional tapas dishes that were cooked and seasoned to perfection.

Andrew took time away from cooking to speak with us about his passion for food and history in the restaurant whilst Marglien was a perfect hostess/waitress.

We visited on the final night of our stay in Ibiza and found El Limonero to be the best possible antidote to our previous few days partying.

Next time we go...we'll be heading there on our first night...and...

Bravo por el espectáculo que ha dado delante de todos sus clientes, es un fenómeno, lleva el negocio así, que de aquí a poco tiene que ampliar el restaurante a ver si así contrata a otro cocinero para que no esté usted solo cocinando, pero mi recomendación es que intente que sea una persona con educación, la seguridad social le va a costar lo mismo y así tiene a otra persona a la que avasallar y maltratar, lástima me dan todas las personas que trabajan con usted, estoy segura de que cambia de personal constantemente porque no le aguanta nadie. Ni niños, ni embarazadas ni nada le ha importado. Encima le dice a una nuestra amiga y a la que usted se dirigía, que yo he sido la única que me he comportado porque yo era clienta habitual. No señor (por llamarlo educadamente) es la primera vez que iba a su restaurante y he estado callada mientras usted nos gritaba por preguntar por nuestra comida que había sido pedida 1 hora y media antes porque no entidendo 100% el inglés y aunque le hemos pedido por favor que hablase en castellano, se ha negado y la principal razón es porque estoy embarazada y no quería discutir, menos con alguien que no nos dejaba ni hablar. Por si no lo sabía también había niños y mi hijo en concreto con diabetes tipo 1, he tenido que darle una magdalena de las que llevo para una emergencia por si le baja el nivel de azúcar y nos encontramos fuera de casa porque le estaba bajando y era peligroso para su salud, no pensé que lo tuviese que utilizar estando en un "restaurante" y habiendo pedido la comida una hora y media antes. Y podría seguir hasta el infinito porque ha sido lamentable cada cosa que usted ha hecho, como retarnos a que enterasemos al restaurante para que sus clientes no lo oyesen ni fueran testigos, no hemos caído en su trampa y todos han visto lo despreciable y mala persona que es, incluso con una clienta que dice que lo conoce más de 9 años, claro que ya no piensa lo mismo, ha amenazado a nuestra amiga y ella estaba delante, le doy las gracias porque ha mostrado su verdadera cara y ya todos sus clientes que estaban allí han visto la clase de escoria que es. En fin, ya no pierdo más tiempo que no lo merece y ayer ya nos hizo perder un día entero, cuando debió ser un día en familia. Ahora curratelo e intenta entender el castellano o sigue el camino fácil de utilizar...

We stumbled across this restaurant three years ago during my first visit to Ibiza. Looking up tapas restaurants again on my second visit recently, this restaurant was listed. It was only when I arrived I realised it was the same great restaurant from my first visit.

The food, the staff, the atmosphere and everything about this place has remained the same... exceptional! Everyone is so friendly. The service is excellent and the food was amazing. Telling the lovely Hannah who served us about our first visit, the chef then came to say hello at our table. It was another fantastic evening of food, relaxation and enjoyment. I’d highly recommend...
