Tià Jass — Restaurant in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar

A quick google search for “best paella Cala Millor” sees Tia Jass pop up numerous times. It was the final night of the holiday and my partner and I were finally hoping to indulge in such a paella.

On arriving to Tia Jass, we were a bit shocked, the place was empty; looked almost closed. We were then greeted by the extremely affable host cum waiter, Toni who guided us to our table.

There were probably four other couples there for dinner, creating a very intimate setting and Toni was the most accommodating staff one could ask for. The oysters and starter (salt cod fritters) were delightful but the real star of the show was the mixed seafood paella. It was perfectly cooked, utterly flavorful and dished up tableside by the scrupulous Toni with his local charm. He even returned to dish up second helpings.

If you want an excellent meal - this is the place. My best dinner in Majorca! It was simple but creative and yet hearty!

Compared to other restaurants in Majorca - views are non existent, the ambiance and interiors are a bit orange, location is weird.

The waiter took his time to attend to us but when he did he was super sweet, his food and wine recommendations were spot on!

I had the shrimp ravioli and my partner had the prawns Ajioli. Both excellent choices. They were perfect. The ravioli was ammazing - sumptuous with the exactly the right amount of truffle (which is hard to find in London these days).

We took the lobster paella (for 2), at a very decent price, the lobster was fresh from the aquarium, the paella was perfectly cooked, not too oily as it is often the case. Starters were also delicious. Quality restaurant with sophisticated presentation compared to others, it is fresh, well cooked, innovative, tasty and pricing is very decent for this quality.
