El Deseo - Santa Eulàlia — Restaurant in Santa Eulària des Riu

Called in on the way back to our hotel. The waiter came over and took our order and disappeared. We got our drinks, and soon after our food. The food was tasty and a good portion of patatas bravas. Our mains came, but then my wife noticed on the menu that what we ordered was only available on the special offer Mon- Fr (this was Sunday) We asked for the bill and sure enough, we had been charged full price. We queried the bill and the details were pointed out. It was a genuine oversight on our part, but the menu layout means you’re destined to fail… We pointed out that when we ordered, we pointed to each item from the special menu, and my wife also ordered in Spanish, the waiter never corrected us to say that what we were looking at wasn’t available on this day, I feel that this was deliberate. After a bit of coming and going, the manager came over and reduced the bill, which was still above what it should’ve been, but we paid it and left. It was a shame, as we enjoyed the food and said we’d like to return, but won’t now due to the poor service. If you go, double check the menu and don’t fall into the same...

We booked 48 hours in advance requesting a front row table with a sea view, we received an email confirmation and reminder. When we arrived they didn't have our booking and told us to sit anywhere, all of the front row tables were occupied. It took 15 minutes to take our drinks order which wrong when it arrived. They took our food order which they also got wrong so sent it back. I ordered ribs with salad and fries. I got 3 ribs, a load of fried potatoes and salad. The ribs although were lacking they were OK but the salad wasn't fresh and the potatoes were a bit dry. I left most of the potatoes, all of the salad and ate the best bits of the ribs. When the bill came they expected us to pay the full amount!!! In the end they knocked off the drinks!! The service was appalling! In summary a very poor standard of food and...

We arrived last night for a meal with a party of 6 including two children aged 5 and 7. The waitress wasn't very friendly on greeting to begin with, took our drinks order and after a long wait still managed to forget two beers for the table. Although the food was reasonable the service was alot to be desired, unless you are local who received a condiment box filled with salt, pepper, sauces we had to ask for one and was only given salt. Once we had finished our starter we were told to hold onto our knives and forks as they didn't replace with fresh cutlery for the mains.

We would have been happy to sit and enjoy another round of drinks/desserts/cocktails but made to feel rushed and unwelcome.

Unfortunately for the chef's the front of house staff let this...
