I dont write reviews but this is hospitality 101 basics but misunderstood but treated with contempt.
We ordered €47 per head x 3 seafood platter. and 1 lamb shoulder. The lamb shoulder arrives with meat platter for 3.....I hear your cries of, Oh hang on, we all make mistakes!? No, there was a specific question on ordering so to clarify I pointed to Seafood platter to distinguish not seafood and fish platter (which was €45 not €47). Had this not happened I might be more sympathetic or unsure on what had occurred. So they grudgingly accept the mistake and bring out the correct platter and the very same Lamb (because my father had applied pepper and this was evidently the same one and congealed fat and sauce, as well as being luke warm).
After finally waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes we ate the food - the seafood platter which was great!! - and the congealed luke warm lamb. One third of the way into said lamb the daughter of the owner asked us if everything was good. We then told her the lamb was bad, we kept language simple as she spoke no English. She didn't return or offer any sort of remedy to the situation.
I ordered the bill, intentionally saying nothing further, to see if they put it right with desserts or a drink; the gesture of which we would of more than happily accepted. None of which happens and a €199 bill arrives.
I ask the waiter to offer something to correct the situation, he asks me 'so, he should pay for his mistake?'. I look baffled by the question and he then angrily asks what I want done, I said comp the wine and we'll say no more (€20 x 1 bottle). He says ok, no problem.
The bill arrives at €189. To not make a scene I politely walk to the bar away fron the seating and ask to speak to the manager. Which rather amusingly sets off a debate. I finally speak to the same a forementioned daughter and the casually dressed barman (father/owner) looms nearby but wont converse with me. A lovely kind Asian waitress arrives to translate and I can tell this isn't the first time. I explain the problem and am told we ate it so it's our fault. I state how can this be you literally asked us and we explained the lamb was terrible and you did nothing about it. She keeps repeating we ate it and I keep repeating, why did you ask if you dont want to hear there was a problem!? This continues until they begrudgingly offer €15 off or they call the Police.
Had I not been with my 13 month old son and elderly parents I'd of let the police be called. I told them to their face I would write this review if they want to spite us over €5 on a €199 bill. So So So easily put right and they treated us with contempt.
This place must rely on people not researching/passing trade from the Yachts. Dont eat here, theres dozens of fabulous restaurants we enjoyed all next door and nearby along the Marina. Went to what we thought wld b a lovely restaurant to celebrate my late mother in-laws birthday! First waiter...beyond miserable with no great understanding of menu. Husband received incorrect steak, therefore sent back. 20 minutes later after asking received another steak totally well done and scrag end! We accepted as children were upset and not enjoying meal and waiting to finish theirs as their dad hadn't received their meal. My sauce on steak was totally cold and waiter said i didnt need to order vegetables as came with meal...well didnt! I went to bar at end of evening, which was cut short due to being so upset, to say will pay for starters, drinks, wine, but not paying for main meals due to everyone being so upset. Waiter threatened to call police, which he wld have gone ahead with, so decided to pay bill minus husbands steak. Asked to see owner but not there! Read moreWe went last night and received shocking service the head waiter (older guy with glasses was rude and arrogant.) we asked for no baked potatoes and chips instead with our chips and he tutted at me. The food came and it was inedible. My steak was bloody and like chewing gum. My sons was the same, my husbands chicken was like rubber. The only thing that was ok was my daughters chicken nuggets. I called the waiter over to say we can’t eat this it’s all so bad he was incredibly rude and walked away offering no solution. His colleague then proceeded to give us a bill for all the food except the steak. I said I’m not paying for this food it’s not good enough. They then sent another waiter who was apologetic and helpful. He then brought another bill for 45 euros and I then said I’m not paying this I will pay for the drinks and the nuggets so they took it away and have a bill for 26 euros which I paid. I thanks the waiter who was very sweet. I feel sorry for him having to work there he was clearly embarrassed. Don’t go to this restaurant if you want a welcoming environment...
