Let there be no doubt, that this might well be the most worthwhile restaurant in Alcudia.
In a subtle, and calm location, perched just above the walkway, facing the open ocean, this stellar locations has a hint of magic to it - much owed to the kind and exceedingly skilled brother duo behind the rudder. I had the fortune of tasting several dishes upon my visit, from what is surely an expansive menu - which will have something for all.
The potatoes were quite good, same with the mushrooms, and meatballs. But the I must admit that the tacos de entrana were simply excellent. It blew me away. I personally consider myself an amateur chef, with a penchant for making things better at home. I've also tried countless great tacos from Mexican chefs.
This however had something quite special. I couldn't have made this. There is a unique blend of umami, sweet and savory that really works. It may have been the best tacos I've ever tasted. Talking to the chef afterward it is clear that effort has been put into this creation - and it deserves our compliments.
Similarly, the garlic prawns are another must-try dish. Every plate of food is served with passion, skill, attention to detail and a familiar home-cooked feel to it. I have also heard that the sashimi and other items are excellent as well. I'll undoubtedly come back here on every trip to Mallorca.
Make sure to reserve a table ahead of time. Order between 3-4 dishes per 2 people and enjoy.
Thanks again for the...
Read moreIt was an ok dinner, it's a tapas restaurant, the portions are not big, but the prices tend to be. We ordered 4 dishes to share. I liked the concept of fried squid bao buns, but I would have liked that instead of the 2 bao buns and a lot of salad (out of a bag) and some fried squid with red alioli as a side, they would have put on the plate 4 bao buns with all of those ingredients that were sitting anyway on the plate, or maybe an interesting sauce on the salad (maybe a vinaigrette), cause it was bland. We liked the gyoza dish, I think it was the most balanced of all the dishes we have ordered, it had spring onions, a very nice sauce, definitely a good choice. Karaage was just some fried chicken, but had a good flavour. We also ordered the veal, it had a bit too many condiments, a bit too much thyme for our liking, it was medium-rare cooked; I think that size wise, it was a slightly bigger dish than the others. They bring you the bread with alioli without asking, the other restaurants ask you if you want it, and i think it's nice to be asked. I liked the music, it was something spanish and quite nice, appropriate for a dinner on the seaside. All in all, an ok experience, but I hoped for...
Read moreWe booked a table. Radical, I know. But wait — it gets better.
Upon arrival, we were asked if we wanted bread. Not forced, not judged, just gently offered. Like a carb-based hug.
Then came the tapas. We were told they were for sharing (which we pretended to do), cooked individually, and would come out when ready. Translation: no synchronized plate parade, just a delicious surprise attack every few minutes. Loved it.
Throughout the evening, we were asked if we had any complaints. We didn’t, but I briefly considered inventing one just to see how they'd handle it. They were that attentive.
We were checked on constantly — not in a clingy ex kind of way, but in a “we actually care if you’re happy” kind of way. Unsettlingly wholesome.
Post-dinner, we were treated to a drink. I assume this was either a thank-you or a bribe to come back. Either way, it worked.
The food? Outrageously good. The service? Michelin-star-level without the snobbery. The location? So stunning I briefly considered moving in.
If I could give 6 out of 5 stars, I would. Actually, I just did. You're welcome.
Perfect. Thank you. We’ll be back. Possibly with disguises so we can pretend it’s our...
