First we weren’t allowed to sit inside although it was completely empty and there were only three occupied tables outside, and the outdoor chairs were very uncomfortable and had small pointy plastic bits that scratched our legs when we moved. In addition to this, the table was too small so we had to get smaller plates and it was also too short so we couldn’t cross our legs, which made it hard to get out of the sofa and chairs. We were a group of five young women who aren’t exactly big in size, which says something. They also played completely different music in the bar and restaurant, so the atmosphere was noisy and weird.
When we ordered the food we got informed that two of our meals were for 2 persons, we said it was fine because we could just take the rest home. But when we got the bill the price was doubled at those meals. When we asked why, they said that the meals were ordered for 2 persons. The menu said it cost 12 euros for the meal and we got informed that the meal were for 2 persons, but we were not informed that the price will be double the one in the menu. Their reason was that the chef can’t cook the meal for 1 person because the restaurant was “too crowded”, even tho the menu said for 1 person (according to them) and there were, as mentioned earlier, only three other occupied tables. The meals were not worth it, to salty and not spiced up at all. We ended up having to pay double price on both meals because “there was nothing they could do since we had already eaten the food”.
When we addressed the problem to the staff, they first appeared to understand, but then proceeded to tell us four times that the meals were for two people, although we repeatedly told them that we know that, but weren’t informed that the price in the menu was for the one person version of the meal. One of the staff members understood enough English to know what we said, but weren’t able to explain it to the higher up. They were nice but unwilling to help or make any changes, even tho it was their mistake for not writing that in the menu or informing us. The service during the meal was bad too. We weren’t asked if we wanted to order more drinks and they never asked if the food was good. Since the food was as salty as the ocean, we had to sneakily pour water from the bottles we had from our beach trip earlier that day.
Also, I don’t think they know what a Gazpacho is. It was warm, not cold, and was nothing like what you imagine when hearing Gazpacho. It had seafood in it too, which was not expected. The rest of the food was okay at best, you could’ve bought one of the tapas dishes for one quarter of the price at the convenience store and get the same quality. The Ceasar salad however was good, if you like a lot of cheese and croutons.

Read moreThe food was great but sadly the waiter was extremely rude at times. While I appreciate that the restaraunt is in Spain and therefore our rudimentary spanish may have been frustrating, my mother has a medical condition which affects her speech and therefore she struggled to explain in spanish and reverted to english when the wrong starter was brought to our table. The waiter then swore and made a comment in Spanish to a passer bye who apologised to my mum, seemingly embarrassed. I was not present for this, when I returned the waiter suddenly became apologetic in, I must say, very fluent English and clearly did not want to confront me. Of course I don't expect staff to be fluent in English but a little patience in some circumstances does go a long way and in actual fact I found their English to be very good. We had the vegetable paella and if it wasn't for this incident I would be...
