Arrabal 11 — Restaurant in Santander

I only got a 1/2 ración (half a portion plate) Rabas and a glass of Albariño because I’ve been craving fried calamar for a while.

The rabas were a little bit too chewy and the breading was a little too wet (even before I squeezed the lemon), but the combination of lemon and rabas is just impeccable and I always loved seeing how different places make rabas. This one wasn’t too much to my liking because I like the breading to be a little crispy, but maybe this is the way they do it in Santander. Also not to mention the portion is huge for just half a portion!

The service was phenomenal though. It wasn’t too crazy busy, but the server came to take my order immediately. After I ordered the wine, he gave me a complementary cheese and breadstick tapa. Everything was very fast.

The environment was also super nice. The street is not the most crowded one, but people come and go, and they had heater in the outside seating.

We found this place late when we arrived and were greeted with open arms. The welcome was so genuine we stayed for many different dishes and many glasses of wine. We loved it all so much we came back the next night. We were greeted with hugs from all the staff.
