Peña Candil — Restaurant in Santander

Worst service experience in my life. Firstly, the waiter was trying to rush us into ordering food, then after ordering for my friend (who doesn't speak spanish), I said I would like to share it with her because I was not feeling well enough to finish an entire dish. At this point the waiter started asking me how can we both eat from one dish and disrespecfully walked off in the middle of taking the orders. Then, when he came back, I asked what his problem was and explained the situation that I was not feeling well, and his response was very rude and condescending telling me to order something else even after I explained I did not feel like it. He threw the wet tissue at the table and stormed off again saying "you're wlecome". The whole experience was humiliating as if we were there just to waste his time. I try to not complain about restaurants because it is a difficult business, but we had a bad experience last night. Our first dish was a cheese platter. It consisted of 8 slices of the same cheese, laid out on a big platter, with nothing to accompany it. The cheese itself was okay, but nothing to brag about.( We figured a cheese platter would have some specialty cheese on it.) The second dish was fried squid and what was expected. Nothing special though, and a bit greasy. Now, the "premium" dish was hake cheeks. Again, coming out on a platter, they seemed to be small in number, which as it turns out was more than enough, because ,swimming in grease, and underdone, each of us ate one small disc and decided that was enough. Horrible experience, we went there to have a proper dinner but my friend was not feeling well so we wanted to just start with coke and langostine a la plancha . However, the waiter behaved very rude and had a heinous attitude of serving food. We assumed because he thought we were not gonna eat much. I have been to many places in Spain so far and have always find the people so kind. But as we all know, a single incident can make or break the entire experience.And that day the waiter did the same . After finishing the starter when we asked for the menu again, he was still having a horrible attitude and upon asking he forced us to order things .I would never never visit this place nor recommend anyone to go to such place where people lack sympathy and kindness.
