Where do I even start!? This restaurant is a shining diamond among Porto Petro and the whole of Mallorca.

From staff to food to ambience, it couldn’t be better!

I called for a table and initially they didn’t have any out on the deck that overlooks the marina, but when we were running late and called to advise them, the owner held us a table in the best spot! The view of the moon over the marina was so nice. Also lots of little shops around!

Yasen, the owner, was really helpful in explaining the food, the preparation, and the portion sizes.

Those kabobs of meat were outstanding. We had one pair of chicken and one pair of vegetables. These are great as a gluten free option in Mallorca!!! Low carb too!!

The chicken came with tomato, bell pepper, red onion, potato, and bacon!!! And the veggie was a delicious medley of sliced corn, peppers, onions, tomato, and zucchini. With a side of yummy potatoes and a smokey dipping sauce, and a super yummy salad with lettuce and cabbage.

We devoured it all.

Dessert was homemade blondie brownie with white chocolate chips and berries. Topped with chocolate ice cream!

This experience was phenomenal. Yasen explained sometimes they stay open late if the guests are enjoying themselves with their mojitos and gin and tonics. It’s just such a great vibe and atmosphere. Super chill and still super delicious. Like you’re family!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Baul with my family on a Friday night at the end of August 2024, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I booked the reservation over WhatsApp, I knew we were in for a treat. The staff were friendly and helpful even during the booking process, setting the tone for a great evening.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by genuinely happy staff who made us feel welcome right away. They took us to our table, which had a lovely view over the port—a perfect setting for the meal ahead.

The starters were generously sized, and after a few days of standard hotel food, we were absolutely delighted by the freshness and flavor that El Baul delivered. For mains, we opted for the Octopus swords (a house specialty), steaks, and burgers. Every bite was a delight, and we couldn’t stop gushing to each other about how great our food was. By the end of the meal, we were almost sad it was over—our plates were so clean they looked like they could go back to the kitchen without washing!

El Baul offers hearty food cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients, served with enthusiasm and a genuine smile—all at jaw-droppingly reasonable prices. We left the restaurant full, happy, and still had money left in our pockets. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a memorable...

You absolutely MUST eat here. I ended my trip in Mallorca with this meal, and my only regret is that I won't be on the island long enough to have another steak from this restaurant!!!! Everything was so amazing.

My party got the octopus swords and the beef swords as appetizers for the table, and they were delicious. The beef, potatoes, and sauce for the potatoes were also so good. For meals, we got the El Baúl steak, T Bone steak, Chef Mario steak, and their sirloin special for the day. The steaks were outstanding. Perfectly cooked to what was requested, and the sides were delicious as well (again the potatoes and sauce, and the salad too was so delicious). We decided to try their brownie and blonde desserts - we enjoyed both but especially the brownie.

We were warmly welcomed and perfectly attended to the entire time. The owner of the restaurant could have chosen to be out relaxing on the beach, but instead he was serving tables and running his restaurant alongside the other servers. He was great with recommendations, very kind, and also a huge Game of Thrones fan - on top of everything, the restaurant has a GoT theme, which I love!!! Rey en el Norte :)
