Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience at this establishment on the evening of the 7th around 5 PM, which I believe was due to discriminatory treatment from a staff member. I had just completed my Camino walk the previous day and was experiencing some body pain, so I asked to sit at one of the cosy indoor tables for comfort. However, an older blonde staff member refused and insisted I sit either outside or at a high table, despite the indoor section being empty at the time.
Reluctantly, I sat outside and ordered a beer and snacks. To my surprise, shortly afterwards, two other customers arrived and were allowed to sit at the very section I had been denied access to — without any apparent issue. When I brought this to the attention of her brunette colleague, she claimed that one of the tables was reserved. However, I personally witnessed a couple seated there without a reservation, along with others who were also not directed to the high chairs or outdoor seating as I had been.
To make matters worse, I noticed the same blonde staff member walk past me later while visibly closing her nostrils, as if I had an unpleasant odour — a completely unnecessary and insulting gesture, especially considering I had come straight from my hotel and was fresh and well-presented.
I felt deeply uncomfortable and unwelcome. I wanted to order main course but decided to leave. No one should be made to feel this way. I sincerely hope the management takes such concerns seriously and ensures fair and respectful treatment for all customers.

Read moreWe were a group of 6, they gave us a table next to the toilets, which have a sliding door so most people going to use the facilities don’t bother closing the door when leaving, not an ideal view to have from your table. The restaurant wasn’t busy, and with 3 waiters there they could have managed better, but everything was very slow. We ordered drinks first, and when we were ordering food one of the group knocked down a glass accidentally and spilt the drink all over the table. But the waiter who was taking the food order didn’t do anything, didn’t bring a cloth to wipe the table, didn’t replace the napkins we used to dry it up, but she gave us a funny look and eye rolling. One of the group ordered a gluten free pizza, which was served first, but the rest of the pizzas took too long to served, so long that the person with the gluten free had finished it because it would have gone cold if she waited for us Wednesday ordered a drink while we were eating, but it took them so long to bring it that we sent it back as we have already asked for the bill, that by the way they had included the drink we sent back. The pizzas are ok, nothing special about them. The desserts were terrible, no taste and presented in an unattractive glass jar. And the customer service should have...
Read moreIn our short 4-day visit to Santiago we were looking for a place to eat wholesome food (other restaurants we found had very similar menus of sea, cheese and meat-based food) and were lucky enough to find Bresca where we returned at every possible opportunity (both dine-in and takeaway). All the meals we've had were absolutely delicious (vegan and non-vegan, and deserts)! Well-rounded and truly inspiring as each had some ingenious innovation in relation to its original baseline. I'm sad there is no Bresca in my home country of Croatia, but am looking forward to any future travel where I might find a Bresca restaurant around the corner. Thank you for the...
